Apple Releases iOS 5 Beta 2 to Developers

It's beta, and they did advise in the release notes that it doesn't work. Remember these betas are for developers.

I actually am a developer. I haven't had a chance to read the release notes or download Beta 2 since I'm not using it on a daily device.

Can someone please test the Chase Bank mobile app and let me know if it is crashing for them in the beta 2? Need to figure out if its me or the beta. (Probably me)

Also, have we figured out a way to migrate a current mobile me over or do we need to make a new one from scratch? I keep checking to see if my usual one works but nothing.

My Chase Mobile app crashes upon opening. The first page will show up then the app will just crash. Annoying. But that's what comes with it being a beta.

Having an issue with the Music app when the screen is locked. Normally you press the home button twice to bring up on screen controls and twice today the phone just shut off doing that.

I noticed that the SMS/MMS/iMessage notifcation on the lock screen is different initially than it was in beta 1 as well as iOS 4.3.3, though is more similar to 4.3.3. Once the initial notification goes away, it is added to the list just as in the first beta. I like this better because you can actually see text messages one by one as they come in on the lock screen, versus having to read the really small text.

Does anyone here experience the calendar bug? It seems that I cant't add a new event and every time I press the + button, the app crashed.

No issues with that problem you're describing. Was able to add a calendar event on both my iPhone and iPad running beta 2

but does not play video. Anyone else actually watch a video yet

I'm unable to complete the restore to Beata version 2, using Xcode. The phone just hangs in recovery mode (blank, unresponsive screen)

When I go open itunes beta 10.5 beta 2 it restores it back to iOS 4.3.

Was using iOS 5 beta 1 without any probs previous. I am able to restore back to beta 1 using xcode and then restore from previous back up, just cant get iOS 5 beta 2 to install.

Anyone else have similar probs or have any ideas how to get around this?

found the worst bug yet that stops me using a phone as a PHONE!!!

when i call people it sounds like its bubbling underwater - when that finally goes people cant hear me speak? i can hear them but they cant hear me?

and no i havnt dropped it or touched water with it!!!

That sounds like the AT&T Microcell. Are you using one of those?

Yes I'm able to watch a video on beta 2 with Netflix

edit: well I was able to resume a video with normal playback a few hours ago, now nothing...

Just upgraded to beta 2.

Last thing I did beforehand was backup to iCloud. Did a full restore to beta 2, unplugged from computer and selected restore from iCloud backup. Everything has restored perfectly (incl. pictures, mail, iMessages, folders, games, game PROGRESS). The whole thing seems faster and more responsive.

Im very impressed!

Anybody else notice you don't need to be plugged in to WIFI sync? all you have to do is hit sync in itunes and your phone automatically starts syncing.

yes it has been said here a few 100 times you only need to be plugged in for automatic syncing.

Yup, tested that already. It worked just fine. Just go to iTunes Sync in your iOS device and tap Sync Now. Your device will automatically appear in iTunes and ready to sync.

Anyone else having problems with Emoji? They all work (on both sending and receiving phone) if I send from iOS 5, but if a friend with iOS 4.3.3 on a 3GS sends me them, half of the "smilies" dont work.

Not sure about the MacBook, but I leave my iMac sleeping all day when I'm not using it and I can still sync to iTunes wirelessly.

I can't seem to paste in safari ......
I can paste into the Built in search bar in Safari, but if I try to paste into a web page box such as google translate, it just doesn't work .... Also tried many other web forums etc (including the box I am typing into to post this) and nothing ..l. So it looked like while the copy works, the paste doesn't inside web pages.

Aw man. My chase app crashes as soon as it opened NOOO! I use this app a lot.
