Quick question that might have been answered already. Can I manually manage wirelessly? Or is it only sync?

Just sync/backup from the device. From the Mac you can manage/transfer.

Looks like Calendar notifications work now, and Mail does not.

Also the "new" UI changes appeared for me for a split second, and reverted back to beta 1 style.

beta 2 worse than beta 1? looks that way to me

I couldn't play music purchased from iTunes or ANY video on my GSM iPad 2, on the first beta, and I still can't on Beta 2. Is anyone else experiencing this problem.

I can get by with the lack of music because I can use my iPhone, but not being able to play any video is a major inconvenience that I was playing this beta release would fix.

One other thing I noticed is that XCode Organizer now also appears to be able to sync wirelessly. It will see your iOS 5 devices. However, if you're still on the old XCode 4.0.2, you won't be able to build to them yet.

I don't have the beta SDK installed at this time to test it, but if the 4.3 SDK can see them at all, I'm sure it will work. Wirelessly building to all my devices around the house for testing is gonna be sweet! :)

For people who plug their phones into their cars in the morning before driving off, wouldn't it start trying to autosync and then get stuck as soon as you drove away from your wifi signal? Does it fail gracefully in that case? Or does it wait until it's been plugged in for X minutes to start autosync?

Hmmmm ...
I have a weird bug to report.

"Waiting for changes to reconcile" ... the final sync step ... is persistent on my iTunes now. It just hangs there (indefinitely), even though the phone seems to have finished syncing. Odd.

Does it every time even after rebooting my computer and my phone!

same here!

I read somewhere that having Banners turned on for Mail would cause this problem. I was experiencing it with Beta 1, where my iPad 2 would not wake up from sleep and would require a hard reset. Once I turned off banner notifications for Mail, the problem went away. Perhaps they haven't fixed this one? Of course, your issue could be unrelated....

I was one of the people who thought turning off mail notifications in the first beta would stop the crashing, but it did not.....I have not experienced the same issue as you describe above yet! Everything is turned on except iCloud. (just stay signed out) glad to say a lot of bugs are fixed and it's very stable now.

Using iOS 5.0 beta 2 on my CDMA iPhone 4, I am having problems with my CalDAV Google Calendars. Using Beta 1, they worked perfectly. On Beta 2, it only appears to want to sync the "Default Google Calendar." It won't sync the other calendars.

Anyone else having issues with CalDAV?

Looks like the problem with my Google Calendar CalDav account is that the password cannot be verified (even though it is correct). As stated above, this worked fine with Beta 1.

I tried deleting the account and creating again from scratch -- no luck.

Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing problems with CalDav?

Yes - but a devs potential customers may be using iTunes on PC so worthwhile testing on that too. And yes there IS a new iTunes beta for Windows, as there was before.

yea annoyingly tho, the Windows beta 2 doesn't do wifi syncing :( grrr

For each device after fully restored while connected tick in iTunes enable wireless sync. Disconnect device. Reboot mac. Open iTunes connect any other device. Repeat.

Now warm reboot iPhone or iPad. Turn on and off.

FaceTime is disabled in this beta so it won't work.

Rebooting my Mac turned on wireless sync. Yay! :D

Sad about FaceTime though. Oh well

I'm thinking that patches will be OTA. These betas are full versions of iOS5, it would be hard for them to do this I think.

Dunno ... They'll have to beta test OTA updates writ large at some point before a public roll out, right?

Anyone else having this problem?

Whenever I get a text message the phone number will show and not the name. Then when I open it in Messages, it's listed under his/her name.

My problem has been fixed by turning off the EQ settings in Music. It was preventing all my videos from playing as well as music purchased from iTunes. This is a huge relief. I didn't want to wait from another beta update just to hope I might be able to play videos on my iPad again.

Another major bug for me that beta 2 fixed was the departure times for transit routing in Maps.

Well, that's what it says in the release notes, so it is a pretty good bet.

FaceTime doesnt work with beta 2. Looking through this thread it really disappoints me to see all the people complaining about it not being stable and crashing and all that stuff. I have 2 responses to that: 1) ITS A FRIGGING BETA FOR A REASON!!!! 2) The iOS betas are for developers to test their apps not for you to use on your everyday device.

To anyone asking, window's links are under the iCloud section of the Dev Portal. Also, iOS 5 beta2 is soooooo much better that beta 1. I've found maybe one bug that will bother me and thats it.

Oh and one more BIGGGGGGGGGG point that I have to make is that iOS 5 beta3 should be available OTA(over the air *n00bs*). If you go to Settings -> General -> Software Update it actually searches for an update unlike in beta1. ALSO: Some updates will be able to be downloaded over 3G. Exploring the ipsw file my friend found a string that prompts text saying "Please connect to Wi-Fi or a 3G Network to download this software update"

Is anyone having trouble with video in safari? I can watch the video but I can't get the controls to come up at all.

I agree. Same with iTunes. I can't delete any tracks from my library.

I did this intentionally this morning, left while I knew it was wireless syncing. The iPhone did just fine, at some point it quit syncing. When I got back, however, iTunes was still kind of stuck syncing on the song when I left, and it wouldn't ever cancel it. I had to force kill it, and now whenever I connect my iPhone to it, it wants me to setup a new iPhone. But, I can initiate a wireless sync from the device, and it continues to sync the rest of the music, so somewhere, iTunes does recognize the device.

Not a terrible big deal for beta products, but hopefully they fix iTunes for beta 3.

Stupid question, but once my device's UDID is on the account, then I shouldn't have any difficulties upgrading to iOS 5 beta 2 right? My device is still locked to my mobile carrier. Should there be any issues that I need to be aware of before I upgrade?

If your UDID is in, then you're all set.

Am I the only one that thinks the new lockscreen bubble is hideous? The beta 1 banner looked much cleaner
