Idk of this quoted on mobile. But I do have audiobook controls on iPhone4b2. I however do not have faces, places in my photo app... I did restore from backup.. So that might be breaking it. I also have not plungged into iPhoto which might fix it.. I hope

I now have noticed that Places is missing as well. Faces is completely messed up for me. It's there, but missing names, etc. I tried resyncing but that did not work. It's a beta, so it should be fixed.

If your iPhone is syncing via wifi, and then when you connect via usb during this process, it automatically switches to delivering via usb, as the sync will speed up. I haven't tried unplugging the usb to see if it continues via wifi just out of fear since apple has taught us in the past not to do this before the wifi method came about.

That was a smart way to test this. Thx. And I've been conditioned the same way. I remember bricking an iPod years ago by removing the cable during a sync.

Since enabling Wireless Syncing I've been having issues with syncing in general.

When I try to sync using the Wireless option, it goes through all the steps only to give me an error saying something about being unable to "start a session" with the device and that it could not be backed up. If I delete the back up that exists, reset the iPhone using Settings/General/Reset it's fine, but reverts to type again soon after.

Also, if you introduce the USB cable to the device after using Wireless Syncing it again flags up that it could not back up because a session could not be initiated with the iPhone.

Odd, but again it's a Beta so it'll be ironed out for launch no doubt.

Is anyone seeing a sync services error on iTunes 64-bit when you first connect the phone? It just randomly started happening. It worked fine during the install Friday night...

How usable is it on a 3GS?

Hi guys,

Haven't found anything against using it on a 3GS, but any with info on performance on 3GS?

Plus 2 mote questions:
- My iPhone dev account is due to expire and since I haven't used it at all in the last 2 years (2 kids...), I don't intend on renewing. So, will I be able to still install the next betas with the direct link to the IPSW file? (well, I could probably add my UDID to one of my companies other projects iPhone dev accounts).

- Does iTunes 10.5b2 work well with a 3GS on 4.3.3 (the wife's).

Yes, I know I don't have to install it and shouldn't really use it for everyday use since I don't develop on iOS these days, but I do suffer from the Compulsive Update Syndrome... :D

Thanks!

I also have a question or so, I don't have my iPod touch anymore, and my mother is using my iPad. So, the question is, since my iPhone is my primary device, is the beta 2 ready to be a daily driver? My UDID is register on my dev account, but I haven't messed with any of the betas since iOS 4, I've also switched over to Verizon. (love it lOl) Anywhoo, I would greatly appreciate it if someone would enlighten me on whether this is ready to to be a daily driver. Also, bout a MBP aluminum to replace my Sony viao, best choice I have made. First computer that doesnt make me miss my old MacBook! Would appreciate it If someone would answer my daily driver question.

The only time I was getting that "failed to start a session" error was when I tried to sync my phone with a version of iTunes that did not match. I upgraded my iTunes to beta 2, but was still running beta 1 on my iPhone. The iPhone would not sync to iTunes and gave me the error described above. Once I installed beta 2, though, the iPhone then synced properly. Have you verified that you are running beta 2 of iTunes and iOS 5 on the phone? I'm sure you have, but that's my experience...

I've been using the betas on my daily iPhone since they started coming out. There are tons of little bugs here and there, but nothing that prevents you from using it as a phone. Certain apps won't work, certain UI elements are funky or broken, and you might even have to do multiple restores to get things working properly. If none of that bothers you, then go for it! If you want a stable device that just works, then avoid the betas altogether. In other words, you should know what you're getting in to before you decide to do it!

Beta 2 only works with beta 2 phones software.

Lol so the betas sound like my android honeycomb tablet lol. I have been away from tinkering with phones for almost a year so just a little catious about it. Alright, need to check and see if my UDID is still registered. I don't care what apps don't work. As long as the browser still works lol. I think I'll start using the betas again and when the final iOS 5 drops I'll be all ready for it. Between my wedding, moving, finishing up college, and the baby, I've been a busy man

Did this pop up for anyone else when they switched keyboards? This never happened before.

Only once, I didn't even read the darn thing :) but it was helpful :) now I know that I can tap and hold to get the list of my active keyboards without having to tap to switch through every one of them :)

Has anyone had trouble syncing their phones? Mine will not sync, the button to sync is greyed out on iTunes. I cannot restore from my backup or anything. My UDID is registered and was fine on beta 1.

Did you install iTunes 10.5 beta 2? It should solve your problem.

It runs fairly well on my 3GS. It is much faster than Beta 1, but not nearly as fast at 4.x. We will have to wait for the final release to see how it really compares. I upgraded simply for the features and was willing to take a hit in speed.

Close iTunes and reopen it. If that doesn't work reboot.

No, I'm still not able to get wireless syncing to work. I can enable it in iTunes, but the second I remove the USB cable, the iPhone device disappears and the Sync button on the iPhone is grayed out.

I don't get how this works. It says if you tap once it will switch to the latest used keyboard. Does this mean if you have 3 keyboards and say switch to emoji then tap the globe it will switch back to the latest keyboard irregardless of order. Can anyone confirm this behavior?

Yup, beta 2 of iTunes 10.5 installed prior to restoring to iOS 5 beta 2.

Really odd, because the sync completes but the back up doesn't seem to save when I check Devices in iTunes preferences.
