oh wow just noticing my signal is weaker since updating, where I was being told full bars I'm now getting 3 bars.... hoping it's just network issue if not what the hell is going on there hmmm

Are we supposed to have that camera button on the home screen? Haven't seen that yet in all five betas. I feel like it's somewhere in camera settings.

I believe you have to double-press the Home button to get it to show, like iPod controls.

Chrome on my iPhone .

Did you even bother to read the Keynote???

Double tap the home button.

So does "hearing aid mode" stop that "FARRRRRRT FART FART FART" sound speakers make when using 2G/EDGE?

My daughter's phone (touch screen w/ pull out keyboard) is EDGE only, and I used to keep my 3GS in EDGE mode a lot until I got sick of the speaker noise.

Ya but it's been a while since the keynote mate. Don't have the greatest memory, so I thought I'd pick yours. Sorry.

I think all of my text messages from yesterday (just yesterday) were deleted.

Really strange. And I started a few conversations, which is very inconveniencing.

Most probably you had disabled the iPhone from syncing upon being connected to the computer and thus accidentally restored without having backed up (It doesn't backup automatically before updating) .. It happened to me a while back.

i had the update on my iPhone, but not iPad, there's a reason they said you should do erase contents and settings tho....

Yes, I wasn't getting the update at first and then I Erased contents and settings and it appeared straight away. Make sure you backup to iCloud/iTunes first.

Have they sorted the security hole that when iPhone is locked, if you go into the camera app, you can then access the iPhone's camera roll beyond any photo's you've taken whilst the phone's locked?

Someone posted a Read me on page one of this posting...

For those of you complaining about apps crashing, read: Do the erase and install... Then complain... If an app crashes, delete it and reinstall the app.

In 9to5mac.com's posting, they mention something about not trusting iCloud servers for data integrity-- Apple may purge the servers from time-to-time... Manual backups of critical data is still a must. Probably why Apple has said from day 1 that betas are not for mission critical iDevices.

Anyone notice the section saying Apple is tracking usage and location unless you opt-out?... And the part about obeying the NDA-- Isn't MacRumors required by law to turn over names of people if Requested by law enforcement?...

I didn't update OTA so no, erase and install is not the answer. Updating iTunes was for me and re-syncing, because I did it the old fashioned way haha.

The Erase and Restore so far only looks like it expedites the update recognition process.

I didn't see anyone talking about the NDA, strange. However, I don't think MacRumors is required "by law" to turn over these names. For one, there's no sure fire way of connecting a MR account with an Apple Developer account because of possible false information or lack thereof. Secondly, that's like saying you're legally obligated to tell your friend's mother that he lied about the party last weekend. You have no contract with your friend's mother, therefore, you're not liable.

Another small change I saw was that on a clean install the home screen setup is different, now Videos app is on the first home screen and stocks on the second one.

How'd you do the clean install? When I installed from beta 4, it never prompted me with those original set up steps.

If you read the release notes, Apple have said since beta 1 that iCloud data is subject to purging and data can be deleted so people shouldn't rely on it, this isn't new information...

iClarified is reporting that you must erase all settings and info before updating. This seems rather odd.

yea if you saw the first page of this thread there's a screenshot from the dev site saying that. it's not odd at all. there's a reason why, just we don't know why

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A5288d Safari/7534.48.3)

Netflix works from what I've been told!

hearing aid mode was in beta 4, just further down the accessibility menu under mono audio, so it is not new.

OTA update works without erasing data on my ipad, but my iphone currently isnt picking it up so may have to erase

I just didn't notice it on the dev site when I looked earlier. I wonder if it's to combat non-dev's or something of that nature.
