Anyone having issues with external displays on iMac's not sleeping after 10.7.2?

One question guys. I have beta 4 jail broken. If I update via ota what would happen ?

Why the hell would you want to jailbreak a beta?
1. It's unstable enough as it is
2. Unless you paid for a UUID slot and do not deserve to have the beta, you're using your developer account for the wrong reasons (Which makes me a hypocrite but I want a dev account)
3. OTA would break the jailbreak and probably mess your phone up big time

On another note, I'm syncing iOS 5 Beta 5 with iTunes 10.5 Beta 4 for Mac. Cool.

What does this "Hearing aid mode" actually do? and what does 2G coverage have to do with hearing aids?

I'm curious because I don't see how a phone could be incompatible with a hearing aid; it's not like you connect them in any way.

You know when you put your iPhone near some anything with an amplifier/speaker, you get crazy insane interference?

Imagine that in your ear. There's a good reason why you wouldn't want EDGE/GPRS data anywhere near hearing aids.

BZZZ. BZ BZ BZ BZ. TCK TCK TCK TCK BZZZZZ BZZZZ BZ BZ.

1. It's a myth that jailbreak makes things (more) unstable. It is what you do to your phone with tweaks and customizations post-jailbreak that affect stability.
2. I have my own dev account. I also develop apps for Cydia. I shouldn't update my Cydia apps for iOS 5 because that would be for the wrong reasons?
3. No, the OTA system is disabled when it detects the Applications folder is modified (jailbreak).
Even if it did OTA, any unbootable state is always fixed with an iTunes restore.

so i have an iphone 4 on beta 1 and got off plane from vacation today turned my phone back on and it was on the iphone set up screen.. i get home try connecting to internet and re setting up my phone and try setting up as new phone or from a back up and when it says start using iphone i click it and it goes to my home screen then does mini reboot back to the setup screen then i plug into itunes and it says my software has expired and i need to upgrade so i download itunes 10.5 beta 4 and the iphone beta 4 firmware and click option restore (on a mac) and it keeps saying the iphone could not be restored. This device isnt eligible for the requested build.

somone please help

Ok I thought that of course but can't they fix it?

Oh what a wonderful world it would be if there was some technology that would trigger automatically, so that whenever someone makes such an ignorant statement their developer account would automatically and permanently shut down. It's a developer beta. It's designed so that software developers (like Google, perhaps) can test their apps on it and get it ready for public release. If you want to use your normal apps, keep the public release. Geez!

Looks like they fixed the tethering and it no longer times out and never connects via wireless.

The last build was much more stable but one thing that drove me up the wall was on my BT connection in the car when the phone rang the iPod would start to play. I had to go into the player and pause the music, 50 percent of the time.

Appalled that this is Beta 5 as Wi-Fi sync sucks.
This is how it went for me.

Attempt 1: Sent two songs over, iTunes showed it syncing and so did my device. Go to music app, only one song present and would not play.
iTunes stated the songs were on the device.

Attempt 2: Load one song onto device. Song worked but No Album Art transferred (Yes the track did contain it and it works syncing via cable).

Attempt 3: Added another song, in the process it deleted the other song. Yet iTunes still states both are on there yet the device shows one (Still no album art).

Attempt 4: Add one more song, sync failed as device supposedly disconnected when it did not. iTunes shows 2 songs on device now, yet the device itself shows no songs present.

Attempt 5: iTunes can't find device/Device can't find iTunes yet both we're working (Although horribly) two minutes ago. I give up.

So I'm gonna be using the cable from here on out. It's outrageous as this was worse in Beta 4 so I guess it'll go to the GM aswell. This is one feature I hate.

I realise jailbreaking (never done this) your iDevice stops the OTA update but would editing a plist file on my iPod Touch 4g (to enable battery percentage) stop OTA updates from working as well?

Thanks.

No, since that is merely a preference key that does nothing to modify the OS in ways that jailbreak does.

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it. The update isn't showing up on my iPod and I've heard that it might be necessary to create a backup, wipe the device and then update, is this true or should I just wait and hope my iPod finally identifies the update?

I'm appalled that they let people who have no idea what beta means use beta software.

Strange. Even on beta 4 wifi sync worked just as well as USB sync (albeit slower).

was there an ibooks-like animation and swipeing in calendar before?
Nope. I'm still on beta 4 and I can't find that anywhere in Calendar.

Wi-Fi sync is broken for me as well. iTunes keeps "forgetting" my devices have Wi-Fi sync enabled as soon as I start a sync. They're still tweaking the system though, so I'm sure it'll be up and running before long!

Has anyone noticed that they removed SMS preview? It has been removed in beta 5 for me.

Can you clarify as to what you mean by "sms preview."

I have noticed, I'm on an iPhone 4 running beta 5, that while I compose a text the text is more spread out with larger spaces, but when it is sent it tightens up again like a normal message.

It's hard to explain. Anyone else experiencing something like this?

In my version you are no longer able to view a preview of the text on the lock screen. Under settings and messages "SMS preview" is longer there.
