Reduce Motion

I hate the parallax effect. BUT I generally like the transition animations. I'm conflicted about the update to the "reduce motion" setting; to me it removes some important context cues when opening folders or apps zooms to the relevant place.

I think Apple should separate disabling of parallax and transition animations in a future update.

i tethered my iPad to my phone via bluetooth, checked for update, and it worked... Seems like the update is glitchy when on wifi

I think I'm in the super minority here, but I actually liked the old animations and disliked parallax, so the fact that I need to now choose between one or the other is a tad disappointing. Not a major issue, just would be cool to have separate settings for each. I think for now I'll turn the animation on and give the parallax another chance.

Also, I too have had problems the last week or so with Touch ID being unreliable and getting lots of "try agains". So far, it seems to be working flawlessly so perhaps there was a bug for some users that has been crushed.

Reducing motion and getting rid of the animations does feel odd.

By fixing the calibration.

No way! What I meant was what about the variation from one device to the other? Does it actually now provide a feature to calibrate your device yourself, or does it magically fix every device no matter what their deviation is?

"Magical" fix seems to be the way it has worked for everyone :)

I hope this fixes my battery life issues. The battery on my 5s has been awful. It dies on me every night. Last night I went to sleep with over 30% battery and when I woke up 7 hours later my phone was dead.

Not enough information.

1) Did you restore from a backup when you got your 5s? That's been a source of grief for some people. Try a clean install and restore your apps one-by-one.

2) What apps have you installed and what's running all of the time? Some apps are known to be bad for the battery when in the background. Try quitting all apps before you sleep and see how it performs. Then identify the app that was the culprit.

For the first time ever, so am I.

I NEED to change the look of iOS, while keeping the functionality. And I'm clearing my phone of anything precious, since the security advantage will be gone. But that'll be a small price to pay...If only Apple would let me revert back to iOS 6, I'd be able to avoid this!

A new jailbroken iPad or mini would be AWESOME, though. Apple's hardware is still (relatively) above reproach. The new iPads are reeally impressive, pricing and iOS 7 aside.

I can't believe I NEED to jailbreak, after all these years.

First of all, I really doubt you NEED anything having to do with a phone.

Second, you obviously don't know how jailbreaking works. You would actually be more secure after a jailbreak because the jailbreak patches the exploit that it uses.

nothing

Nothing here to download yet IN CUPERTINO! no less,, new 64GB iphone 5s, two weeks old

Reduce motion available for iPhone 4?

We don't have that option to begin with, but would love the fade in folders as opposed to the awful animations

I just have e 52 mb upgrade... iPhone 4S... weird...

Why is that weird? Every phone has different size OTA updates.

----------

NYC area has been unblocked. Downloading now.

It was never blocked. They just roll the update out to all their server farms. Plus, on the iPhone it doesn't actually check for an update every time you go to Software Update (to keep people from hammering the servers).

Got it ...

It is now available for download out here in the Middle East.
So I'm guessing it's rolling out slowly but steadily to everyone now.
:D

FINALLY you can speed up the animations. I'm glad Apple addressed this quick I thought Jhonny wouldn't allow it!
