Why would it lock if you were watching something on it?

Ah, I was watching a movie the old school way - on TV. But I just constantly referred to the iPad for IMDB, etc. But I see how what I wrote could be unclear. :)

Did they fix the Messages bug that prevented data from being deleted? (I have 1GB of storage data held in my Messages app both on my iPad and iPhone)

That bug was in iOS 6 and was fixed in 6.1, but the attachments can only be deleted through a restore or through a method discussed in multiple other threads.

On my phone, after the 7.1 update, the geofence icon is on and appears to be originating from the Apple Store app (for the retail and online stores).

That's kind of annoying, actually. I've had to go and turn location for the Apple store app off in Privacy settings to bet the geofence to shut down.

I wonder why that's happening.

Edit:
I figured it out. It's tied to Apple's iBeacon feature which apparently is integrated in to the Apple Store app. Turning off in-store iBeacon notifications (in the app's settings) turned off the geofence status bar icon.

It's your wallpaper. I think? Text on mine is white. Is all the other text black or just the text within the folders?

Font colour will change depending on how bright your wallpaper is.

That was actually inside a folder. I have no control over the background of a folder.

It's the same thing on the dock at the bottom. Apple makes it gray and the text is black.

Yes... I have a dark wallpaper so the other text labels are white.

But Apple decided to make certain backgrounds gray with black text. And I don't like it!

After updating to 7.1, the location services outlined arrow appears and doesn't disappear. After going to privacy settings, the Apple Store app is using location services even though I'm not near a store.

Shouldn't this automatically go away or do I need to turn this off manually?

Wondering the same thing.
Anyone have an idea?

Hi, can someone please tell me if they finally fixed the issue with safari browser tabs auto refreshing when you switch between tabs.

it is by far the most annoying bug introduced in ios7, i have lost countless number of typings / forum posts to this bug.

thanks

It is always best to install it as a new iPhone but I only do that for the biggest updates, I usually just update OTA. Restoring from backup is the worst option IMO.

When you install as a new iPhone, are you able to retrieve progress in games, or no? I want to do so, but have gotten so far in a few games and don't want to start over.

I really hope so. I've been having to restore from backup about every two weeks to squash the ever-expanding "other." Once it was over 9GB.

I'm also looking forward to better fingerprint recognition. Mine will work great for about a week, then pretty much stop. I delete the stored prints, add new ones, and it works great for another week. Rinse and Repeat.

The only way I got rid of that Other was to do a restore from backup when I went from ios 6 to ios 7. I had over 5 GB of other and after I did a restore from backup it went down to 1.2 GB of Other so it freed up a lot of space for me. I just did ios 7.1 and it still shows 1.2 GB of Other so I am happy I have more free space.
