That is only one study. I have been educated in color theory as well as design, art history, and many other subjects in regards to art. I never said I speak for all men. If you would go educate yourself on the subject before calling me wrong or bigoted just because you like the color scheme, maybe we could have a civil conversation.

I'm not saying you're bigoted, but you have repeatedly said "most men." Well, most men are not educated in color theory or art history. How about, people like what they like, and if you don't like it, that's good for you? Stop throwing around "most men don't like pastel colors." I could not give less of a hoot about the colors of my icons. It's a phone, and it works well.

OK.... So I've had ios7 for about an hour....

I'm not sure if I like it or hate it...

It certainly feels "clean" and it took a good 30 min for my eyes to get used to the whiteout effect of this color scheme.

My first impression was "yuk" but I'm getting used to it... So for the time being I'm not sure.... I have to say that I was expecting to be wowed in a slightly different manner.

I did use Skype and the keyboard has not changed there .... Still the ios6 style and color. Is this normal?

I truly hope that the new style will continue to grow on me.... Will have to wait and see.

Yes, apps have to be updated to take advantage of iOS 7 APIs (the keyboard would fit under this). Some apps, like Twitter and Facebook, have already been updated. Skype has not been updated yet.

Since no-one has mentioned it , check out Siri. It FINALLY feels like a proper service! No more a feeling of beta. It´f super fast, super effective and I might finally want to use it for something :)

I agree with Treq. And I am an over-40, urban, heterosexual liberal who supports gay marriage and went to art school.

Please understand, it is Treq's opinion, and I share it, that the colors in question will not be popular with men.

Treq says his opinion is backed up by experience and knowledge of the subject at hand. I would second that, though I'm not going to waste anyone's time listing my credentials because at the end of the day, we're still discussing opinions.

Since when is someone's opinion right or wrong? Sure, this particular opinion will become a provable fact or an incorrect prediction once we're on to iOS 8 and the iPhone 6. But until then... debating the actual opinion is far more interesting than attacks upon its owner.
(that last statement was also an opinion)

This thread proves one thing. About half the population REALLY hates change, any change. If something changes they WILL find something to dislike, even if it's a stretch. The older I get the more I realize that this is the case with everything.

People do like what they like. I'm all for that. I'm saying MOST men wont like this color scheme. Not ALL men MOST men. Just because you might not fit in the category of MOST men doesn't mean you should feel insulted. On the contrary, you should take it as a compliment. This is just a statistic.

Thanks mate.... Wasn't sure if it was a bug.

I wonder if people have had to bring the display brightness right down to be able to use their iPads? (I did)

On the plus side ... I should see increased battery life

Yes you're right, I should've noticed that when you claimed I am not a real man because I like the colors on my phone.

That was a snarky joke. I apologize. I thought people would take it as just that and let it go. I forgot this is the internet and people never let anything go.

As with any other change, you have to work with if for awhile to learn what has changed. So far I think the usability is better.

Thanks mate.

I got it to update my iPhone at last. I think I'm like everyone else, mixed feelings. For instance I like the icons, but in the camera app I love the HDR button etc but think it's an after thought with the way you select video/ photo/ square and is very fiddly to change.

Also how do you get the weather to show on the notification centre? And it's buggy with the multi task screen, if you hold the phone in landscape in the camera app then back to portrait, go to the multi task screen and the app icons are stuck in landscape and vice versa, small but a noticeable bug.

I doubt whatever we are seeing is Tim Cook's mistake. Apple is made out of 80k employees, and trust me when one guys leaves(Steve Jobs) , it does not mean that the talent that created things like OS X , iTunes Store, iLife Suite, and the macbook air are gone.

The one guy who left was the one guy who said NO when something wasn't good enough. He also had a hand in UI and hardware design and had his nose up in everyone's business. Tim Cook has no such role at Apple. He delegates to his team and launches what they make. Ultimately, it's Tim Cook who must determine whether something is good or bad, and whether it's ready for prime time.

The problem here is that Tim Cook is a great manager, and was a good choice to lead Apple if all Apple wanted to do was maintain the status quo. Unfortunately, that's not going to cut it. This fall launch is the first under Tim Cook's watch, and look what we got. Tim Cook's strengths are managing, and he clearly doesn't know when to say NO. Unlike his eminently more talented predecessor.

Thank you. BTW, Your second sentence there is also a description of me... :D

Stupid question....how do you listen to iTunes radio on the iPhone? It states that the option should be in the music app, but I don't see it next to artist, album, or the such...

61 pages here and I skimmed through some.
Some people don't see iOS 7 available including me. Wanted to know if there was a solution.

info:

Iphone 4S jailbroken
Using iTunes and it shows I am on 6.1.2 and that 6.1.3 is available to update.

I cannot update via OTA because I am jailbroken. Is that causing a problem for me on iTunes as well this time?

EDIT: also I updated to latest version of iTunes.

EDIT2: found a page with a direct download ipsw file, but looks like it's going to take a while.

Not yet sure how much I do, or don't, like the look but I am very happy with the new features. Hell, I'm just delighted you can turn airplane mode, etc. on/off from the lock screen.

iTunes Radio is in the Music app, you should have a button at the bottom on the very left that says "Radio."

I am pushing back on whining. If you are not happy about the design then voice some constructive criticism. Saying the calendar is a mess and you don't know how to do anything wastes everyone's time. It has nothing to do with being a "fanboy" or whatever other term you want to throw around.

So in order to voice an opinion I need to provide fanboys like you with a complete UI critique? Glad I don't put any value on your opinion, however clearly there are more people here who dislike the new UI than like it. Maybe you should get on their cases too, because none of them provided any such UI critique.

People like you should get out more. :)

I'm about to jump ship to the Note 3 but I'm digging IOS 7 (well everything but all the white). Love the swiping back on the Apple apps. Only thing I'm having trouble with the accidentally bringing down the Spotlight search when I navigate through the home screen.

Overall I'd say it's pretty good but way too bright.

If your jailbroken, you don't want to Update unless you are willing to lose your Jail Break just to let you know.

Yeah, that's the problem. I have Genius, playlists, Songs, and Artists....no radio button to be found

Seems to be buggy...after closing music a few times, it finally appeared.....
