iOS 2.0 bricked phones also so people acting like it wouldn't of happened under Jobs obliviously have short memories or weren't iPhone users back then.

Shocking from Apple though.

i downloaded 8.01 IPSW and tried updating through Itunes and manually selecting the firmare but i get a error that "my firmware is incompatible" help!

I updated via OTA while plugged in to power adapter. Same thing, no Touch ID and no service. Verizon in America.

OTA caused my phone to loose TouchID and get no cell signal

I've just done a full restore (without backing up first) using iTunes and it looks like it's working

I suspect the issue is something in the OTA that is broken/missing, as when my phone came back from OTA it had lost its name and reverted to be 'iPhone'

[Update] ... Yes I got 8.0.1 before they pulled it, and the phone seems to be working from a full restore

Someone in Apple Quality Control/Assurance needs to be fired for this .. it's a major screw up, especially at the time of #BendGate and #NakedPhotoLeaks

very very poor service Apple

To those seeing the update still, I am sure it has been pulled but it will take a while for the copies to be pulled from any replicated servers.

I'm sure the file isn't just on one machine at Apple.

They have pulled it apparently. My iPhone 5s (verizon) said it had the update downloaded and when I hit install (before reading this article) it said it couldn't be verified. My iPad Mini Retina did not show the alert yet, and when I plugged it into my iMac, iTunes reports that 8.0 is the latest version.

anyone notice the enlarged status bar within non apple apps as well? 6+ att

This is not a bug, this happens on any 3rd party apps not updated for the larger screen sizes yet. iOS automatically expands them to fit the screen, causing enlarged everything when in the app.

this will be fixed as apps are updated to support the 6 and 6+ screen sizes.

I did the update via iTunes - tend to stay away from doing the OTA's just in case something goes wrong. Worked just fine (iPhone 6 btw), touch id, all apps (so far), etc work, so seems to be something flaky with the OTA.
