Pulled, anyone who is stuck in download just go to settings>usage>manage storage or whatever and delete the update.

This is not a mistake. This is a serious error from a chain of people that has affected potentially millions of people. Many of which rely on their phones for things like business.

Sometimes people need to be held accountable for making very serious errors.

I think if you enter DFU mode you can then restore using the latest 8.0.1 through iTunes. I might be wrong but am going to attempt it right now.

Going to be interesting for those that don't use iTunes and have already updated OTA. Exactly how will they be able to fix, if they no longer have carrier service? Looks like long lines again at Apple and carrier stores.

Through iTunes:

Air/VZW had a glitch at the end where iTunes couldn't see it after the update. Restarted iTunes and all seems well (iTunes and the iPad/cellular/wifi/etc.).

Just plugged in my iPad2 (iOS8.0) and the dialog box came up to download and update 8.0.1. I did a quick backup, then tried to update, but now iTunes says 8.0 is the most recent.

Someone must be panicking in California.

I've been reading Macrumors for years. I joined today and my post in this thread was my first ever on Macrumors. Because I'm annoyed. I'd guess that goes for a lot of people posting for the first time in here. There isn't some vast conspiracy by other phone companies to pretend there's a big problem. There simply is a big problem. But yes, rest assured, Samsung, Microsoft, etc. are all LOVING this and the news coverage it's going to get today.

As I type, my phone is tethered to my Mac and I'm restoring (8.0.1) via iTunes. Hopefully this works.
