Apparently its pulled from iTunes too...hopefully they release something to fix the buggy monster which is iOS8.

Mine says 0 seconds reminaing for download, but nothing is happening. Can i just delete this OTA update. anyone help!

Consider that the iOS 8 GM was issued in mid-August to coincide with volume production of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. 10 million iPhones preloaded with the OS for a mid-September release don't just magically appear overnight. It's not like Apple stood still after they issued the 8.0 GM and waited until the bug reports started coming before getting to work on the fixes.

As others have said, this update addresses the bugs that Apple already knew about when iOS 8.0 went gold. The next update will address the bugs that killed cell service and Touch ID.

FWIW, in my experience so far iOS 8.0 has been a lot more stable than iOS 7.0.

fixed;)

Hope Apple offer us something nice for the inconvenience. Maybe a £25 iTunes voucher?

Why do we have to get something free? why must it always be free? jesus, some people, anything to get something. Not defending Apple's broked update, but come on man.

8.0.1 IPSW seems to have problems too. Safari crashes on boot, Calendar has an empty icon, app settings mostly empty...

Ugh. Wow. Someone really screwed the pooch. I wonder what the nature of the bug is; maybe some missing library?

Sad times. Rather have TC apologise for the messed update then have something for free.

This is not a mistake. This is a serious error from a chain of people that has affected potentially millions of people. Many of which rely on their phones for things like business.

Sometimes people need to be held accountable for making very serious errors.

Tim Cook should take some responsibility. As CEO, the buck stops at his desk.. doesn't it? I know he probably does't even know what iOS is, he is just told what to say in the keynotes, but he is ultimately responsible. Craig Federighi is also responsible since he oversees the development of iOS and OS X. He should have made sure the update was tested before being released. This isn't some bug causing glitches or crashing on people's phone. It takes the phone out of iPhone. What good is an i with no Phone in it.

People rely on their smartphones for communication, business, family, etc. Timmy screwed up. Timmy should fix the issue, and apologize. But no, "only apple could make such amazing products, software and services.. only apple"

I would rather them release iOS 8.1 that fixes all the bugs that iOS 8 has.

Buggy keyboard switching, contact names disappearing from messages in lock screen, crashes, resprings, and over all fluidity. Anyone who disputes this is either lucky or in denial.

Just tried updating through iTunes, and now getting this:

'This device isn't eligible for the requested build'.

I updated via iTunes and all of those work just fine for me. Either way someone at Apple f'd up bigtime.

It seems people who update via OTA have this issue while people who restore via iTunes seem to have normal functioning phones.

Can people corroborate this?
