No updates for me for a month or so. I was one of yesterday's iPhone 6 casualties. #. What an ordeal. I want those 4 hours back Apple. Hmmm, I just realized how very often I've said those words over the last decade. I must be a masichist for buying this 6. Swore time and again I was done with Apple then ran right out and bought it. What's up with that? Just too lazy to learn another device I guess.
My WiFi has been speedy and steady here at home but won't find WiFi networks at all when out and about. ## Battery life is definitely much worse than my old 4S, however, with Safari being the big hog at 51%. Probably from reading all these posts because I've certainly turned off every feature. I'm quite unimpressed with this A8 chip. It's noticeably quite sluggish comparatively on many levels.

Short term pain with Apple, life time pain with Crapoid.

Sweet mother of God! Every time you bring down a software update there is a chance there might be issues, I don't care who the OEM is LOL!

Your existing install is good? Then backup before updating,if things go south just restore from backup and quit the belly aching will you? You like being on the bleeding edge of tech? this is part of the game.

No this is not the bleeding edge, this is beginners school, two year old babies use iPads and iPhones. Apple is supposed to be this magical company where everything just works, I've never known that to be the case, but if you close your eyes to the truth, anything is possible.

I could have done a number of things, but decided to see how this all pans out, because I've done this many times before. You people amaze me, you're the reason Apple makes so many mistakes, because they think everything is fine because you won't say anything bad about Apple.

Great. You are the third person to say it worked after retrying from iTunes. This is starting to sound like the issues(the legimate ones, not fake ones posted by apple haters, samsung shills, etc) are installation gone wrong somehow, and not a 8.0.2 problem specifically.
We've heard it all before, it's Steve Balmers fault.

Do not update to 8.0.2 if you have a 5s. I never installed 8.0.1 and just installed 8.0.2 an hour ago and my Touch ID stopped working and my cellular is acting goofy.

Can confirm this is not the case with everyone. I too upgraded a 5s straight from 8.0 to 8.0.2 no problems with Touch ID or data and as a matter of fact the Touch ID is much improved... Like instantanious now when I unlock. It never did that before, maybe a second or two lag before it recognized my fingerprint. Now it seems to unlock as I'm pressing the home button down. Nice!

Just updated my Iphone6 to 8.0.2.

It is now searching for the Telstra network, WIFI works but it will not connect to the Telstra network.

Also the Touch ID does not work.

I have reset the network setting, done a hard reset.

Not happy Apple!

are u on 8.0.1 after downloading from yesterday

then u should do
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6487

when then u should get rolled back 8.0 (early vision) which i did yesterday im on vodafone AU,
after u done that then download 8.0.2 again it work on me finally

I have a 5S and everything works fine? I didn't install the 8.0.1 either.

  • iPhone 6 here, no issue in Australia.
  • Cellular network connectivity and touch ID work perfectly. No reset needed. Work after installation.
  • Still waiting for Health apps that used HealthKit. Anyone?
  • I don't use 3rd party keyboard so can't test it.
  • All my apps can access photo from Photo Library prior the upgrade. Nothing new here.
  • Double tap now close the Reachability
  • No issue when receiving SMS/MMS
  • Never used Family Sharing
  • No issue with Ringtones backups
  • No issue with uploading photo/video

Just piping in with a positive OTA download experience. No hiccups and my impression is that 8.0.2 has made everything snappier, more responsive. WiFi page loads are faster.

UPDATED:

If you are iPhone 5 and 4S owner, this update is a MUST. It makes everything faster and smoother than ever.

Ipad mini retina, at first install of 8.0.2 from 8.0, the performance seemed to be improved a lot with less lagginess when closing apps and switching between apps. BUT, after about an hour of use, the choppy animation when going home screen is happening again, even after only few minutes of use of safari or youtube app. It is so annoying. Although i think its a BIT better, but its still there. Also, after using safari for some time, if you double tap home button, the animation for going to app switcher is missing because it is too laggy. But if do it one more time right after, the animation is there. This mostly hapens when safai was being used for some time i think. Not other apps. But its A7 device, and this shouldnt happen.

EDIT: the second problem also happena in youtube app, as well as safari.

Iphone 5 here.
Battery life is much improved.
8.0.0 took my daily battery from 7 hours to 5 hours or less.

I'll still need a full days test tomorrow though.

However, I'm still seeing the annoying issue of the "gear spinning" in the top left for no reason.
For example, I'll open stocks and stocks will load but the gear will spin for a solid 2-4 minutes. What is that gear doing? What data is it loading?
I've seen the same thing with mail and Safari.

Worked on my 5s, even got a call before so it's still a phone! I missed getting 8.01 as by the time I knew it was out it had already been pulled.

Updating my iPad Mini now.

Updated IP6 8.0.2

All seems fine and dare I say "snappier". Wifi definitely seems better than iOS 8.0.0. On 8.0.0 had trouble connecting on wifi and page loading was slow. Now it seems to be zipping along. Cellular and Touch ID works just fine.

Haven't posted anything here in 3 years. Suddenly I felt the need with all this "sky is falling" going on. Clicking on these forums and reading these responses kind of feels like the ending of one of my all time favorite films.

Oh and the IP6 is pretty awesome so far. I forget it's in the pocket sometimes.

Of course it was a trouble for the 40000 and my deepest sympathies for the issues they faced. But cmon give the company a break. I work in s/w development. **** Happens and I can bet quite a few developers did not go home yesterday and they fixed it today.

All I am saying is it does not warrant this:
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com...s-us-stocks-sell-off/articleshow/43490934.cms

Its like iPhone bending gone haywire. Its metal and if you apply enough force it will bend. Will it bend on normal use - probably not unless u sit ur ass on it or try to do something ridiculous. Basically things get overblown but if you put it in perspective AAPL ytday screwed up and it affected ~.004% owners. That %age is way less than the number of people who would go without food today. One day without phone would not have killed anybody. Hope those 40000 did better things like spend more time with friends and family in the past 24 hours :)

As one of Apples victims yesterday, we've been patiently giving the company a break for decades. In what decade will they put function over form I ask? It's always another workaround or another prayer for a fix with this company.
