Enjoy!
Didn't know that my 5s was already obsolete.Ever since iOS 8.0.2, I've not noticed any performance or stability difference with iOS 7.1.2. Not a single reset since updating to iOS 8 either.
um why not just flip right or left while on details screen to get to the next city? I mean if the list to details is driving you that batty. Or unless you have 14-11 citys in there I suppose that could be a little hard. Just throwing it out there.
Try switching between different cities in the weather app by expanding/collapsing. Lagfest 101. There's animation lag there that exists on all devices on iOS 8.
Keystrokes are slower in Spotlight and tapping the upper part of the screen to automatically scroll in app store was 60 fps smooth in iOS 7 for the 5S, not so much in iOS 8.
That's odd. I didn't have to do anything to mine after the update.
Those are some odd ones. Certainly doesn't really seem like some big widespread issue though, but a weird one nonetheless.
So apple is now doing something about their engineered obsolescence about making older devices slower??
Why didn't they address the issue when people upgraded their 3gs's to ios 4 which made their phones super slow? Or what about iphone 4 users who upgraded to ios 6 and 7 and now have a useless paper weight?
What a joke. Ios 6 is what pissed me off enough to switch to android.
I have 2 cities in my Weather app, and switching between them is buttery smooth actually besides a tiny teeny dip in frame drop for a split second, far from a "lagfest" Im on a 6 Plus on iOS 8.1.1
Because that doesn't solve the initial issue of bad coding. I have 4 cities, and it lags. It's a well known issue and iOS 8 does have performance quirks.

I was really hoping that this update would fix a Siri issue I'm having on my iPhone 6. But it didn't. Siri and dictation do not hear anything I say at all. It works fine when I am using my ear pods w/mic. Speakerphone seems to work fine for phone calls. I don't get it. Anyone else having this problem?
OK OK settle down. Just offering a solution. I also have 4 cities and a easy flip to the right to switch between them is smooth as silk and actually easier than the list/detail switch back and forth, for me at least. Sorry Apple didn't make the list/detail switch as smooth as you would like though.
I have 9 cities in my weather app, and the animation is buttery smooth switching between cities in full view and also between list view. I tried recreating lag in the program by running music in the background and geofencing applications, but nothing is causing dropped framerates for me.
I do have background app usage turned off for most of the apps. I'm also currently running 8.1 (12B411) on my Verizon 128 GB iPhone 6 Space Gray if that helps at all.
I'll be updating to 8.1.1 shortly as I really hope it fixes Safari's seemingly random but constantly spinning wheel and problems with displaying bookmarks in landscape mode.
Just downloaded and installed ios 8.1.1 on my ipad 2. The ipad is booting faster. Performance has also improved. My advice to everyone-whenever you install a new new update let it settle down for a few hours, let the ipad/iphone adapt to it and you will see the real difference.
