I'm quite sure he's talking about the OS not actually copying anything to the clipboard and using an older copy when pasting.
I see. Can't say I've encountered that. I have experienced some cases where the menu to copy something wouldn't come up for some reason, but these were sporadic and fairly rare, so I wasn't sure if it might have been something related to those or something else (like what you mentioned).

Anyone know how much longer apple will allow signing 8.1 from past experience? I have an iphone off ebay coming in the mail and want to stay on 8.1 for JB. Thanks

No way to really know. Even in the past it's a bit random. Sometimes it's a matter of hours, sometimes a day or so, sometimes a few days, and sometimes (although more rarely) a week or two or so.

Cool that helps thanks

My original iPad Mini seems to have resurrected from its ashes (a few more weeks of using it as slow as it was, and it may have been true).

It feels as fast as it was with iOS 7. Very happy with this update.

Spotlight is out of wack on a 5s.

I can no longer search for an app. Instead all of my mail appears first even though I have it arranged differently in settings. Highly annoying.

Apple simply can't get their stuff together with these updates.

Agreed.
The grammar is incorrect, if we assume the update is bug fixes and stability for all devices... and the performance improvements specifically for the 2 and 4S.

There probably should have been a re-phrasing, and a semi-colon in there...

I think just an Oxford comma would suffice, no?

I had the same problem on my iphone 5 and it turned out it was a battery issue , Phones bought in december 2012 with the battery issue qualified for free battery replacement and Apple replaced my battery and the problem was solved.

Another issue I've been having ever since 8.0 that I hope 8.1.1 has fixed:

My phone has been completely dying at 30% battery. as soon as my iPhone 5 hits 30% battery power the phone will shut off and it will not turn back on without the lightening cable being connected. It tells me the battery is completely dead, but if I plug the Lightening cable in, as soon as the phone boots back up it will tell me I still have 30% battery power. Not really sure if this is a software issue though (although this issue didn't start occurring until after I updated to 8.0), but my iPhone 5 is over two years old still working on it's original battery.

Earlier in the day I was close to praising iOS 8.1.1. Safari seems much better. But nooooo.... I tried to bring up the notification pane, stutter, stutter, freeze, reboot. I checked the diagnostics and it was a panic.

Today was also the first time I took my 6+ from 90% at 7AM to 10% by 4PM.

Seems like people have experienced this and potentially even before 8.1.1. For most it just starts working, and after an update perhaps it takes a bit for things to get re-indexed or something like that.

Unless that's really how they meant it: bug fixes (as in general), and then stability and performance improvements specifically for those listed older devices. Although given their wording it doesn't quite flow if that's what they meant. It does almost sound like it's just an Oxford comma that was omitted.

Text selection and copy/paste is still messed up. Also Apple needs to fix this share sheet bug:

+1. Just about unusable until now. Not as fast as iOS 7, but remarkable improvement nonetheless.

There is still a bug where the cursor may not appear in the correct location when composing a message in iMessage. Sometimes the cursor appears before the "To:", not after.

Yet another interface bug:
Enable reduce transparency in settings. Use Safari's Private Mode. Type in the URL field. The little "x" in the field is much too dark to see.

Sounds typical of an OTA update with apps not closed first. I would close all apps and try a restore via iTunes allowing it to backup then restore your data. Pretty painless to do and works wonders for these types of symptoms. OTA seems to have random issues and seems to work better if all apps are closed and device is rebooted before applying the update. iTunes almost always gives gives a better upgrade experience. ( I mean other than the convenience of pressing the OTA install button)
