Apple Releases iOS 8.4 With Apple Music, Beats 1, and Revamped Music App

Yes! AppleMusic is awesome! There are still some big feature requests I'd like to see it have, but even in this 1.0 version it's already way better than any other music streaming services i've tried.

Someone should know. I know technically how it's said to work - I'm interested in seeing the options in settings. I figure it's a binary thing. Do you want Apple Music or Match. The whole "complementary" thing is super confusing. Makes it sound like you might want both.

My wild guess is match is going to be part of $9.99 a month fee?

Anyone else having trouble creating a playlist within  Music?

First I tried going on to the playlist, 'edit' and adding them that way. After finding about 10 songs I hit done but none of them saved!

Then I tried searching each song individually and adding it that way, after which it removed the 2 songs originally on it and saved only one of the new songs I'd added :/

I'm getting the 'Can not enable iCloud Music Library' issue - in Settings > Music when I try to turn it on, I've tried to both Merge and Replace my playlists (as I was using Spotify before, I only had a couple of albums on my phone, just stuff I'd bought on it) so I don't care about losing those playlists.

Any ideas on how to enable it so I can select some stuff to be available in My Music and be available offline?

Try turning off genius if that is selected.

I think everyone needs to remember that literally everyone that just got iOS 8.4 is trying to do the samething. So errors are bound to happen as the servers are getting slammed. Everything well work in due time and iTunes 12.2 well most likely launch when Beats 1 launches.

This revamped Apple Music App is a total disaster!!!!! The design and usability is horrible. It's not intuitive and the "now playing" banner at the bottom gets lost and the buttons are too small.

Total disaster my ass! It's the same as it has been since iOS 8.4 Beta 3 which I have been using since May 11th and the usability has been just fine. That Now Playing banner is the mini player. You tap it to get it full screen. At least take some time to familiarize yourself with it before getting all crazy.

I'm on iOS 8.3 (12F61). Google tells me that's the latest iOS 8.3 beta. However, I've got no beta profile (as far as I can see) installed. But I just can't update to 8.4 official..

since you are still on 8.3 you will probably need to update thru iTunes. You missed out on the 8.4 betas

One thing I'm noticing is my music is louder on Spotify than Apple Music. I have to increase the volume on Apple Music to get the same level as Spotify. What does that mean?

Agreed. Hoping for someone like me that already has match that it's smart enough to turn that off when I turn on Apple music. This is the sort of stuff Apple struggles with. For a prior example - see photo sharing/streaming/iCloud photo. All of which sort of still exist in some way.

I'm guessing that "icloud music library can't be enabled" is because your library hasn't been scanned by iTunes 12.2. We'll have to wait for it to be released.

I assume the Beats 1 radio station is only available with the subscription plan and not free like the current iTunes radio offering?

Will the current iTunes radio continue?

I am not interested in the Connect or a $10-15 per month streaming service - I buy - but I would like the Beats 1 station, though I can't justify the $10 cost for just the radio aspect. I've never paid for Sirius XM or any similar satellite radio or a premium based Pandora or Spotify.

Anyone using the family plan (multiple iOS devices that use different iCloud but same iTunes account via Family Sharing) know how to allow Apple Music to separate songs for individual accounts?

Just tested it, and it downloaded the song A that I only want on my iPhone to all other devices.
