I stil don't get it why apple is limitating the size of downloadable data for store or ios update.. I had to connect my phone to my laptop with phone sharing connection and do an ad hoc Wi-Fi network so my phone believes it download the update via Wi-Fi instead of 4G...

Nonsense... Or at least put an option to deactivate this limitation...

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered but with 34 pages of comments already it was impractical to try to scan through the entire previous discussion ...

I connected my iPhone to my computer, and using iTunes it is downloading the software update for 8.4 for my iPhone.

What I don't understand is this - the download, when I'm doing it this way, is 1.79 GB. From the posts here it seems that this should only be a 220 MB or so download, to get this update. Why doesn't updating via iTunes also pull the smaller update file?

So far I have been pleasantly surprised with Beats 1 radio. I was sure I would hate it or not care but there have been a few good songs they played. It also sounds like they will have a lot of diverse programming on here.

Are you coming straight from 8.3 or some older version?

So did Apple just launch the worlds single biggest radio station today?
Meaning the most potential listeners to the same channel.

The artists getting played in the 1st hour today have to be ecstatic.

Problem is only people who have updated their iPhones have the access to it. So that wouldn't be everyone with an iPhone at this time. Plus, with iTunes update not yet out that's gotta be taking some people out of the mix right now as well...

Just installed it on my 4S, and I can confirm it is just as painfully slow as before.

My iPhone has 8.3 now. I always keep the software up to date with the latest release.

Huh, strange. Maybe when done through the computer it downloads the update differently? I have no clue there, my update from 8.3 was just over 200MBs

Anyone know how to make the music you add to "My Music" available for offline listening? I only see options of going through each track individually and hitting make available offline

Because when you plug it into iTunes, you are downloading the entire image. Using your phone only updates the bits that need updating.

loosing connection, while I'm connected to internet :(
says saving songs to play list, but nothing there :(
can't add to play later :(
well after 1 hr. of messing around, I just got frustrated, I'll try again another day, but not a good start so far :(
at lease I have my purchased music and it always works :)

Probably I should have initiated the update from my phone. Still, it seems that it shouldn't make a difference? In any event, it's downloading now and I'm sure it will work fine. I generally do my updates this way rather than via wi-fi simply because I feel like the 'hard' connection to my computer and internet service would be a more robust connection, but I know that it shouldn't matter. Anyway, I appreciate your response. Thanks.

Well, this really sucks. I've been here since 4 hours ago waiting to update iTunes hoping to hear Beats1 launch live and Apple decided windows useres weren't good enough for them. What a same.
Dude, iTunes newest version isn't available yet...even on a mac. So they didn't forget about you..you just have to wait.
