My biggest beef, and perhaps I haven't looked that hard for it, is Where the heck is the 'Shuffle' function in the Music app?

I found the 'Shuffle' icon, but it only shuffled in a single artist, not the whole collection.

It used to be so easy...

I'd plug in the ear buds, and click the center button, and off to shopping. Now, Nope. not working like that...

Can't Apple bring back the 'Shuffle' function? Make it easier to do? COME ON!!! It IS a music player, right?

Downloaded 9.01 update and still hasn't helped the issues I'm having with my iPhone 6 128gb. I'm doing a full back up now and am going to do a clean restore/installation. I should note, my iPad Air 2 is having no issues at all and I'm loving iOS9 on it.

My iPhone 6 bugs:

1) iPhone lags and stutters on app flyouts, while typing, multi-tasking, etc.
2) FaceTime starts while making voice calls for no apparent reason.
3) While attempting to purchase apps in the Apps Store it takes several attempts to actually purchase an app. I click get or purchase and the app starts to download then stops and returns to the Get or Purchase button. This happens for updates as well (I update apps manually)
4) Thumb scanner is pretty much useless since the 9.0 update. I have rescanned my thumb multiple times and still have issues with the button recognizing my thumb.

Just a few of my issues in my iPhone 6. Only posting here in the hopes someone from Apple is reading.

Funny, I see it as the opposite. There's a lot of people on these forums praising iOS 9's speed, which makes me scratch my head. Do people not notice the difference in their device, or do they simply want to pretend that Apple's software is an improvement in speed?

I did some pretty hefty testing on my iPhone 6 to determine if I wanted to upgrade. I tried the GM / Public Release / Beta 1 and reverted back to 8.4.1 due to lag. The stories of "no lag on my iPhone 6" on these forums, lead me to believe that everyone here drinks from the same Apple Kool Aid container.

Nothing broken here... My devices run great.

No lag on my iPhone... And that kind of "speed test " are useless

Well my iPhone is running well also, so I suppose we are either lying, paid by Apple (dammit Tim where's my check) or drunk the Koolaid.

How about fixing why my WiFi gets turned off randomly and I have to hear Siri tell me "I am not connected to the internet" whenever I try to use it.

How many updates have there been since that were just fine? If anything it makes it less likely a snafu like that would happen again.

Snafus have happened on virtually every iOS release since 1.0. What reality filter are you applying today?

The actual reality one. You are saying virtually every update had issues that basically broke major functionalities of many devices and essentially invalidated the update? Not sure what reality that exists in.

Tap the album/artist/genre to shuffle. Took my awhile to figure out.

Thank goodness. The stress of the original 9.0 release has given me walking nightmares, street terrors, diabetes and hysterical pregnancy. I had to downgrade back to iOS 8 just to sleep through the night.

I believe you that you say your device is running well. It is. It's just not running as well as it did on 8.4.1, which is what iOS 9 is being compared to in many of these forum conversations.

So when people say my iPhone 6 runs as or more smoothly on iOS 9 compared to iOS 8, they simply don't notice the difference....or want everything to be O.K. in Appleland.

Except me. I still only see 'iOS 9.0 Your software is up to date'

I guess its an iTunes update. oh well, sounds like the little one has nodded off so I guess I have time.
If you were using one of the betas and had the GM build of 9.0 but hadn't updated to the release version of 9.0, it appears that you won't see 9.0.1 unless you use iTunes.

That makes some sense. I was on 9.1 PB1, downgraded to 9.0 GM then updated to public when the little update came along. Just waited 25 minutes for iTunes to download 1.84gb... only to time out at 1.5gb. trying again!

I have the same issue.

How do I update from the GM to 9.0?

When I updated to iOS 9, my phone barely functioned. I couldn't even post to Facebook as the keyboard was lagging and froze after inputting only a couple of characters. Facebook froze and it was quite a chore to shut it down as the usual procedure wouldn't work. I ended up having to post my comments to Facebook using my computer. This newest update doesn't seem to address that issue so once again I am forgoing the update process and waiting until the next major update. I don't like how you now switch from one app to another: it reminds me too much of Microsoft Windows and I abhor that operating system. If I had a better option I wouldn't use it: now it seems like I should find something else to run my phone other than iOS and Android.

I have noticed no lag on my iPhone 5s on 9.0. Not sure where all these lag stories are coming from.

It's not really lag. A lot of people on here get very worked up about OS animations that are not perfectly smooth. There are YouTube videos of people just flicking through home screen icon pages and pointing out how there are slight pauses in the animation. Most of these things don't interfere with the usability of the device, but some get upset at the loss of fluidity. I think concern about minor losses of fluidity are a waste of time. There are much more interesting things about iOS to focus on. We all know that new iOS updates will have bugs in code and that at some stage most of them will be fixed. The sense of entitlement to perfect software seems to be something specific to Apple users.

Of course there are major design flaws and bugs that interfere with most users' experiences. Eg. Loss of cellular function with iOS 8.0.1, loss of wifi function, voice message 0:00 grey box left in Messages app text box. These are important. But a dropped frame in animations?

And there are also issues of major lag eg. significant keyboard lag when typing. These issues often get drowned out on here though.

"But does it destroy your usability?"

No. Apps take a fraction of a second longer to load in this x.0 release. General usability maintained.

This is no help to a device that is already stuck in a loop following an update to iOS 9.

You could've also still backed up via iTunes in the stuck "slide to unlock" state, even if you didn't have a backup when you started.

How do iCloud backups work? Will users who update to 9.0.1 have issues restoring the latest backup onto their new 6S which presumably shipped with 9.0? I'm assuming I'll have to set up as new phone, update to 9.0.1, and then erase all content and settings to restore from my 9.0.1 backup. I hope I'm wrong though, that wastes a good amount of time!

Close. You'll activate the new iPhone, update to 9.0.1, then restore from iCloud backup (no erase step required). Some of the restore operations will happen in the background, so you'll be up and running fairly quickly.

since i am using the zoom feature of then accessibility tools because i am visually disabled i have installed the update on my iPad air 2 and the problem is still there. zoom has very big issues. sometimes it works and some other it doesn't. some times when it can be activated its not as smooth as it use dot be and when in zoom mode the screen si like flickering when doing around in the zoom area
very annoying especially for me and other people, with low vision problems

It's not supposed to take a fraction of a second longer. It's supposed to take a fraction of a second shorter. They introduced iOS 9 as a refinement release to improve performance, why should we accept slower phones? I'm staying right where I am on 8.4.1. You shouldn't promise one thing, and deliver another.

Straight from Apple's website:
Engineered to perform. At every level.
Under-the-hood refinements bring you more responsive performance, easier updates, better battery life, and tighter security. So your device works that much better — for everything you do with it.
