I take back my previous comment. Sync to a computer doesn't seem to help. I tried a restore, and that didn't help. I did a fresh install after an erase all data and settings and that "solved" the problem. However, I have too many apps and configuration to even try a fresh install as a real solution. I am going through another restore. My current guess is that the problem happens (to whomever it happens) on upgrade from earlier IOS). Perhaps some configuration carried over is not cleared correctly by IOS 9. Let's hope Apple provides a fix.

"Kills the iPhone?" What does that mean?

Iphone dies from laughter? :)

Seriously though - really disappointed in Apple. They had like 4 months of beta and now 1 week after the release they start fixing bugs. They should hire 100 more programmers that actually check the bug reports and work on fixing them instead of adding yet another useless feature.

They have so much cash it can't be that hard to find skilled enough people.

I installed 9.0.1, and it seems to have removed all of the app updates that I've installed over the past week. I now have 20 pending app updates, dating back to September 15. And I'm absolutely sure that I installed all of them previously.

I had a ton of updates before upgrading to iOs 9.0.1 and I am sure I had updated them earlier.

So I guess something is wrong with App Store :(

I hope this will also fix the photo bug that I came across – when importing image files from my Canon 6D with the SD Card Reader, thumbnails turn now grey in VCSOCam and crash a series of other photo apps since iOS9.0. Would be great to get this working again.

Fixed my lag problem when unlocking my iPhone 5. After the 9.0 update I had to type my unlock code twice, because the phone responded so slowly that the first digit of my code was always ignored.

It still runs pretty slow on the 5 and makes it feel outdated for the first time.

The non shortcut keyboard is still not rolling up pages, so search boxes are half obscured.

Installed 9.0.1 last night. Phone has been charging all night. Woke up, showered and got dressed, unplugged the phone and drove to work.
30 minutes later, at work, I check my phone and there's 33% battery left?!?!

What the hell happened??

Do you get paid to repost all day and all night? This has been the most NON EVENTFUL launch of s new iOS to date.

iOS 9.0.1 is available to all iOS 9 users as an over-the-air update.

iOS 9.0.1 is a minor update that introduces bug fixes and performance enhancements to iOS 9. iOS 9 is Apple's latest operating system, which focuses on proactivity and intelligence with updates to Siri and Search. It also includes a split-screen multitasking feature for the iPad and updates to several Apple-branded apps.

I don't notice any special iOS 9 lag even on my iPhone 5. I mean, not more than the sparingly sprinkled out lag from iOS 8. I do know what it is when it happens though; the new app switcher was noticeably laggy even on my iPad Air 2 on the iOS 9 GM but that must have got a last minute fix.

You aren't crazy. I have not installed 9.0.1 yet, and last night I had at least one update (1Password) repopulate the same update I had taken back on 9/22. This issue however doesn't revolve directly around the install of 9.0.1, I'm still on 9.0 as we speak.

I assume this update is phones and 3/4G iPads only. My two phones (5 and 5S) have updated but there is no update showing for iOS9 on my wifi iPad Air2.

I have noticed no lag on my iPhone 5s on 9.0. Not sure where all these lag stories are coming from.

I can't wait for all my tech unsavvy friends to throw a hissy fit that "they JUST updated their phone the other day"

And they'd be right. I just updated my mother's phone yesterday and now she's going to be seeing an advisory asking her to update. Wasn't that just done yesterday? Wasn't it done correctly?

My suggestion would be that Apple needs to drop in point fixes without user intervention. If nothing substantial is changing then the user isn't having to make any kind of choice. Asking the user to OK a security update is computing from 1995. Things are different now.

There should at least be an option for this. Backup when connected to power, and apply point updates too. After all, if you're connected to power then there's a strong chance you'll be on wi-fi too.

I wonder a little if Apple's not trying that trick that car dealers do, when a recall can be a nice way to get the customer to feel like the manufacturer's caring about them -- and even get them to visit a store for the update to be applied by the staff, so they see new products.

Incidentally, is anybody else finding that they can't get an appointment at the Genius Bar? Every store within 100 miles of me is showing as unavailable.
