I've had issues since early iOS14 on my iPhone Xs... when you go to message someone you can type a character or two and then the phone seems to 'lock up' for several seconds. Any characters you've typed come up on the chat after a 3-5 second delay, but it's a nuisance that didn't happen in iOS13.

Because you have to take action to download those. Software updates can be set to download automatically.

It could be implemented that it’s a feature to turn on... would be very useful for me, I have unlimited data on my plan so wouldn’t make a difference in that respect.

- Improves compatibility with Ubiquiti wireless access points

Hopefully this fixes the issue where my X would just decide that WiFi was a dirty thing to try using until you rebooted it.

The reason that it's unlikely that there are tons of phones attached to something with lightning cables flashing is simple: the devices need to get put into the correct box, because the box has the IMEI, SN, MAC addresses, etc. Having a huge flashing station would make that process difficult, since none of that information is actually on the phone itself anymore. So if one phone is out of order the whole mess is out-of-order, and resolving that would be extremely difficult.

I'm starting to think that the only way for them to do this is for the bootstrap process to download the image, then report back when done. That's the only way you could pull unfleshed phones off the line in a timely manner. It could also be that the process is also in charge of telling the device what its IMEI, SN, MAC, etc are, so they can get burned in at that time.

I don't get it, why doesn't Apple let us download an OTA update via LTE already, and keeps it mandatory to wifi?!?

My LTE is way faster and more reliable than most wifi in Germany.

You could actually force the update to download over LTE. Settings-General-Sofrware Update-[Back]-Date and time(manually set next month)-Software update- you should now see Download and install-Update over mobile data.😛

Because of the whining about using mobile data and how could it be allowed to use up my data allowance or cost me excess data charges. Not everyone is lucky enough/can afford huge data allowances on cellular.

If I update my 11 Pro Max to 14.1, while I'll able to load its backup to my iPhone 12 Pro when it comes in?

Yeah, you got a good point, but on Settings ---> App Store ---> Cellular Data there are:

- a toggle named "Automatic Downloads"
- three options: "Always Allow", "Ask If Over 200 MB" and "Always Ask"

iOS Software Updates via Cellular could also have similar toggle and options, plus warnings and more warnings.

And on Settings ---> Photos ---> Cellular Data there's a toggle named "Unlimited Updates" that when turned on can potentially use more cellular data than software updates.

Anyone else been having issues with airplaying videos to their Apple TV? As soon as the screen turns off the video stops and you have to turn your display on and tap play, which then loses where you were in the video. So extremely frustrating.
Same here. Very frustrating.

Everything seems fine with the phone and iPad. I don't use either one a whole lot consistently. However, haven't noticed any issues after the update to 14.1

I got another nice upgrade today, that wasn't Apple. universal released Back to the Future in 4K / HDR. I picked up a box set today of the three movies. Excellent Job done. I only have HDR 10 compatibility here, but compared to the DVDs, and then previous released blu-ray releases Details really pop in here. My biggest moments of noticed were outside with lighting and sun, etc. The skin also looks a lot more natural too. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone here was planning on getting the new release. I think it's worth it.

My guess is that LTE infers that you may be moving around. Say in a car, where your signal could drop out. It needs it to download the update but also to verify the signature on it is valid during the install.

I'm having problems where certain messages don't show clickable links in the notification when I view them as previews or pop-ups. I can't figure it out, and I hope this fixes it, but it's the case with multiple contacts in my phone.

Is anyone else having a similar experience?

I hope we are able to update our iPhone 12’s to 14.2 when they arrive on Friday. Otherwise I’ll be stuck like last year and not be able to use my phone until they do release the beta for it. Restore from backup doesn’t work when the restore device has an older version than what’s in iCloud.
<shrug> Hence don't run a beta OS on a production device.

Good question. I never get to enjoy the slick iPhone migration process where the new iPhone camera views the glyph on the old iPhone and everything gets copied over (that will also ask if you want to migrate your Apple Watch to new phone) because something always has to be updated to match something else and I end up setting it up as a new phone, then updating to the new version in order to restore from the backup.

That is always frustrating and I am determined to figure out how to make it easy next time.

I've waited long enough...tired of 13.7 😆
I'm updating phone and iPad (Nice to see the icon size bug ...see what happens)

**Oh brother,I hope I dont regret this..LOL.

I did a quick take on both sides and I'm still waiting for 14.1.1.

Why do people insist that would be meaningful? The Stupid don't care, it'd be all "how DARE you!", and they'd turn it on, and something would automatically download. Then they'd whine when they got the bill.

If your new phone is supposed to show up this Friday, why would you bother? If your new phone is a couple weeks out, then meh.
