Well, i decided to update after all. I'm always kind of ocd about doing updates if im not doing a 'clean' install, i just dont feel like going through it all right now, but the phone updated and doesnt seem any slower or anything.
So, all in all, i feel a lot better i patched up that nasty little hole just in case.
Just like everyone else has been reporting, it looks like there were no other changes (at least that i can find).
The high pitched noise is still there, ie after unlocking, and receiving a text etc.
So overall, i feel better now, haha. Hopefully, the 3.1 update will come soon, and they fix some annoying bugs.
Question though: Does this SMS vulnerability affect older firmwares? My girlfriend has a 2G thats still on 2.2.1, she just doesnt want to upgrade.
Or was it a 3.0 vulnerability?
thanks!
