Apple is now taking App Store submissions for 3.0 beta 5 apps.

No they're not. They only said that all apps submitted will now only be accepted if they're *also* compatible with 3.0 Beta 5. But obviously we're still talking about 2.2.1 apps until 3.0 isn't released.

Mms

I am currently running 3.0 beta 5 and my MMS hasn't disappeared at all. Although I still can't send MMS still! Ugh!!! I am also able to access the Cellular Data Network folder in Network setting under General. I tried to fill in the MMSC to mmsc.cingular.com and the MMS Proxy to 066.209.011.032 and that still didn't work. If any of you have any suggestions on how the MMS might work please let me know since I am one of the few who still have their MMS showing up.

THanks!!!!!! :D

did you restart the phone?

MMS isn't there for me at all. Tethering still is. I had the AT&T 5 IPCC installed prior to updating too.

I installed the iTunes beta on my Vista-64 now iTunes and quicktime can't play movies. (they crash)

Since installing the new pre-release itunes on my mac I've had system hangs and crashes countless times.. which unfortunately led to me loosing most of a project I'd been working on in Logic over the past week.

Anyone else seen issues with the newest pre-release?

You work a whole week on a project without saving it or making backups? Wow.

LOL. No, but most of the work had been done over the few hours before the computer went. wasnt me personally doing the work, i'd tend to save fairly frequently.

but anyway, yeah.. nothing but issues since i installed it.

Luckily I haven't had problems with the new iTunes beta and I use Logic Express. I haven't had any problems with stability.

New Itunes won't sync ringtones

Hey guys,

After installing Beta 5 i've noticed I can't sync any ringtones. They show up in Itunes, are checked off to sync but don't display on the iphone. Any ideas?

Sparky

Update:

Found the solution, you have to create the ringtones again and reselect them. Then they will sync.

You need to reinstall the carrier file again even if you had previously installed it. Then you need to restart your phone. This will make the icons and settings page for mms return.then in order to actually get it working you need to call Att and have them makes the changes to the settings on your account. It took me 4 calls until I finally got someone who understood what I was asking. Then it took him 10 secs to make the changes and it has worked ever since. The only other option is to put ur aim in another Att mms capable phone, then call and and tell them you are using another phone for awhile and have them turn on mms. Then once it's working just put your sim back in your iPhone and you will be good to go.

First, reinstall the carrier ipcc file by holding shift, then clicking restore in iTunes. Locate the carrier file and select it. A very quick install of the carrier file will occur. Then restart your phone. A true restart is when you hold the home and power button( ignore the slide to turn off prompt) until you see the apple logo, then let go. The phone will then reboot. If this does not work then you have the wrong carrier file and need to locate the correct one by searching the net. There was a step by step tutorial on gizmodo a few weeks back with the carrier file attatched. This will get ur icons and settings screen back. You then need to deal with AT&T to actually get it working. And u caanot be using the newest pre release of iTunes 8.2 that came with beta 5. Stick with the pre release version of iTunes 8.2 that came with beta 4. Even if you believe you have the correct carrier file previously installed, install it again!

Can someone PLEASE link the carrier file they are using for tethering/MMS? I got the icon back following those instructions but my picture message always fails to send. Im on ATT US if anyone is willing to link it.

I have a problem with my 1st Gen iPhone, each time I try to restore to beta 5 i got an error 1012 at the end and then the iphone goes to DFU mode. Any idea?
(I have the new iTunes)

if you guys both have the icon back that means your carrier file is not the issue. The reason you cannot send / receive mms is because of AT&T. You need to call them( took me 4 calls) and have them make the needed changes to you acct settings. The other option is the sim card switch option mentioned numerous times in this and other related threads. Google for a step by step tutorial on enabling mms that gizmodo ran a month or so back.

it must have been removed...cause i got it there....email me andybrownstl@aol.com and i can send it back to u....as far as the medianet link i dont know, but u can always call att to enable mms once ur sim is in the other non iphone

Try calling Att directly as opposed to the sim switch method. If you get the right person( not easy) they can have you up and running in 5 minutes. Just keep insisting that you have a registered developer Acct phone and that ur phone is now fully capable of mms. If they enable it on there end by removing the iPhone mms opt out it will work. Keep pushing!
