I updated mine, just to wonder there is no background notification section in my settings? Did apple pull this? I don't even see it on the apple site mentioning it is it me or did I just miss something?

You have to open up an app that has background notifications such as Tap Tap Revenge 2. It will let you know that you can enable notifications, and ask you if you want to. Once you enable that, it will show up in the settings.

That has to be done on a per-app basis. Certain apps will have that functionality and certain apps won't. There is no setting for it.

Thank you sir!! Now I just gotta wait for the damn Beejive update!!!! to see how that works!!!

Wierdness...

I downloaded & installed succesfully, then I updated some calendar stuff and started to sync again.

I live in the states near Seattle but now my phone is speaking a new language to me...at least during it's second syncing.

I thought it would enable tethering on the Ipod touch ie. you'd be able to use your mac's internet connection via the sync cable...

Am I wrong?

You've got it the wrong way round - tethering only works on the iPhone and is to share your iPhone's data connection with your computer, not your computer data connection with your device.

how long should the update take? I've downloaded it but itunes has said "preparing iphone for software update..." for over 10 minutes.

edit: Oh itunes froze, looks like I gotta restore my phone, great.

There should also probably be a new release of AIM soon that has push-notifications. Developers got to test it for 7 days a couple of weeks ago.

Any moment now, actually.

Hmm for some reason your iPhone is now speaking Danish :p

I'm not seeing the push notification setting either. I've restarted the phone, re downloaded AP News and Text free and I still don't see it.

I have a 1st gen Touch, and bought the 2.0 last year... I wonder if I should jump again to 3.0 because it doesn't seem as important as 2.0 (which requires to run app store apps).

Feel kinda rip off as a 1st gen Touch user.

I wonder what happens to those 1st gen Touch user that never downloaded 2.0, will they automatically jump from 1.0 to 3.0?
