So what does the update give the 1st gen phones. Anything? LOL sounds like most of it is for 3g
Bluetooth Stereo
The stereo bluetooth is what I was looking forward to the most. I picked up a pair of Motorola S9 headphones. They work except that the phone does not recognize the skip or back buttons, which is annoying. These work when I pair the headphones with iTunes. I'm hoping it is a bug that can be fixed with a future update.

Even if this was free, I wouldn't download it. I don't see any benefits for an ipod touch user except cut copy and paste which I'd never use anyway.
It gave this 1st gen. owner a brick.
It bricks mine I will be getting a new one for free becuse this crap software
DEV team said they will give info later today on older Iphones, you may be ok but i would wait first,
I'm unable to wait! hehehe.

It's much faster, and also gives you other improvements such as search and P2P gaming.
Are you insane? Everyones like "blah blah, i won't use cut copy paste, or landscape etc, or even push (which is odd), but everyones forgetting what 3.0 is really about. HARDWARE!
Think of all the cool hardware that will be available. Not as yet, but we may get gaming pads, analogue sticks, etc!

I'm updating my too, I figure we are good to go. The GM and Final version was reported to work fine on any pawned 2.2.1 device so I'm hoping it will be all good.

Well anyone has a 1st gen let me know what it gives you. I figuer I am going to have to update to get the full use of what can be done with the iPhone now
Got it. Working. But just about all my apps are gone. The strange thing is that iTunes tells me all the apps are there. Not sure what to do.

Not all of it. You still get copy paste, search, and in-app purchases on all iPhones.
There's even more than that still...
I've got everything downloaded, quite quickly actually however its the damn install and looks to be final sync that's taking forever. It seems as if the 'back-up' is frozen 80% of the way through.....
I don't have the option to show battery percentage on my 3G!!!
That's only for iPhone 3GS.
