Seriously this stupid activation server thing is driving me nuts!! Just when I thought Apple had learned how to do it correctly again...NOPE.

They used to be SO on top of their game...

QFT. This is really an annoyance. I wonder when the server is going to be fixed.

Did you use the 9-5mac version? I downloaded the ipcc file that they had a link to, but someone said it was the at+t one. Does it all seem safe on your iphone? Apart from possible billing implications of course.

No i found my ipcc on a thread on the iPhone forum and its the O2 one. It works very well. No hiccups.

I seem to be having trouble pairing my phone to my laptop via bluetooth though which is why i was using USB in the first place. My iPhone wont see any other BT device nor accepts requests from those that see it but thats a BT issue not a tethering one

I'm rating this "negative" for the frustrating server error problem that has made me restart, disconnect, reconnect, and spit over and over and over

thats what we get for being the ones to rush to download the update first ;)

My iPhone refuses to update. I'm all out of Xanax and panicking.

This isn't fair!! I took a day off work for this!

I love the update. Here are my initial thoughts:

- Tons of little refinements throughout the OS not many people are talking about.
- App store icons load MUCH quicker over 3G, and no longer get "skip apps". A huge bug in 2.X that was rarely talked about. Glad it's fixed.
- Once you select an App, images at the bottom are now all available to see instantly. You no longer need to select the picture to view it. It loads as you select the App and are available to view instantly.
- OS seems snappier.
- GMaps picks up my location MUCH MUCH quicker. Instantaneous....bravo.
- Widescreen typing is awesome, as expected, and feels better in 3.0, than in 2.X.
- Safari loads webpages in WiFi faster. Less hiccups. 3G is about as fast as it was before, possibly a little quicker.
- A site like Dailytech.com, which had slow rendering times in 2.X, renders rather quickly in 3.0.
- Missed calls now show where the call came from on the missed calls list itself.
- If you click on a previously made call, it shows you how long the call was in talk time (not sure if this is new, but I don't remember this)

Lots of more things to go over, but those are my experiences so far.

Dammit see this is the problem with timezones. I'm happily waiting, and reading the waiting threads, posting a couple of times maybe ... go off to sleep around 1am, and wake up to release threads with hundreds of replies!

Oh, and to a frigged activation server :(!

This is really annoying now... i wouldn't mind if i could use my phone but i can't!... been waiting for hours and trying now...

As a 1st gen user this **** has gone on to long now... this always happens!
put iphone into restore mode and restore to 3.0
then turn your iphone off and on or keep disconnecting and then reconnecting until it activates

I would just skip 3.0 all together if I could use my phone. I have tried restarting, restoring, disconnecting, connecting, and still nothing. THIS IS BEYOND FRUSTRATING. I hate error -9807.:mad::mad:

Has anyone gotten this message?

Iphone activation server is temporally unavailable. Please try again later.

Dont know if it has been mentioned already, but you can now open links in to new tabs in Safari. Thank you Apple!!

Hahahahahha, freaking nerds:

I got the download super fast, only to be denied here.

I was getting the same error, when I turned off my airport it actually went through. Try it and see if it fixes your problem also.

Yeah, trust me thats all been done already... just going to have to wait...just annoying when you hear people getting through... never works first time for me

I kept getting that silly error message about the server being unavailable. I quit iTunes then plugged in my iPhone again and wa-la its installing now

Yay! ÅÄÖ are part of the main keyboard. A hidden treat for Scandinavians.

Wasn't there supposed to be a battery indicator with percentage, or did I dream that up?

Nope, I have been scouring the forums to find out why it didn't show up when I upgraded to 3.0. I wonder if that is a "3G S only" feature. I can't find any mention either way.
