Apple Releases iPhone OS 3.1.2

I just jailbroke my 3G. I'm debating if I should update to this and go virgin - which I don't mind one bit - or if I should just stick with the jailbreak.

Just keep in mind - if you do this.. you may NEVER be able to jailbreak again.

I'm doing a DFU mode restore to 3.1.2 on my iPhone 3G. I'm going to set up the 3G as a new phone. Not from backup. I will be doing a regular update to my iPhone 2G

Has anyone else had any problems with sync'ing on a 3rd gen ipod touch / iphone? I bought my ipod about a month ago and I have already had to format it once due to it getting stuck in the "verifying ipod" state when I plug it into my imac. It is doing it again when I connect to itunes. This is getting old real quick.

As a side note if your an iPhone dev. you need to download the new iPhone SDK if you wish to develop using 3.1.2.

Fix the syncing of smart playlists! Apple screwed this up and I'm pretty sick of it, I rarely use those smart lists at home.

I'm holding off until I can see more feedback on how the patch is going. I saw a ton of people update 10.6 to 10.6.1 only to have tons of problems. My phone is working pretty well, so I don't have a crushing desire to update it.

I also suffered from the wake issue about once a day on my 3G. Apple's support site suggested that I reset my current settings and that has worked for a few weeks now. I'm just glad I wasn't the only one.

I'm extremely happy about this! 3.1 was pretty much the worst update for me. Hope that all my issues/bugs I have will be fixed now.

I'm still sticking with 3.0... perfectly happy.

3.0 was incredibly buggy (at least for me). The icon issue was annoying, and the 3.1 update fixed that and added quite a few minor features that made the 3.1 update the most significant .x update since 1.1.
