I can confirm redsn0w 0.9.3 WORKS with iPhone 2G updated to 3.1.3 by selecting the 3.1.2 IPSW in the process! Bootneuter and Cydia are correctly installed for the 2G.

At least Jailbreaking MIGHT also work 3G and 3GS
Not Unlocking though because the Baseband has been updated for these iPhones versions."

New Modem-FW is 5.12.01 on 3GS."

Or what? If I shouldn't upgrade because I will lose the JB and nothing else, not an issue. I can re-jailbreak it down the road. However if the update is proven to brick only JB phones (maybe a legit one here and there), then hell no I won't update.

if you read the previous posts, you will find out that in this update, apple closes the entrance used by jb. once you update, you will not be able to revert back to 3.1.2 and therefore unable to jb.

Using current exploits yes. I am quite sure that since a human mind put it together, another human mind will take it apart. The real question is how long will it take to get it JB'd again? I can wait.

the playlist bug seems fixed. had to restore as new and my smart playlist with playcount of 0 now matches the one on iTunes. So far the only difference is i haven't synced the genius mixes to my iphone. I'll probably leave them off

I am in the process of upgrading now. Just waiting for the backup to finish.

For those that have upgraded did it fix the issue with laggy scrolling when scrolling through the list of videos or podcasts on the iPhone? That is one issue that is kind of annoying on my 3GS.

I used to have Notifier installed and I don't recall my screen turning on every time I got an email. Is there a setting within Notifier that is causing this maybe? The only time my screen turns on is when I get a text or a notification from Boxcar (new Twitter @ reply or DM).

Actually, I think I finally found the culprit . . . QuickLockScreen. There is an events widget that shows incoming email. I deleted the widget from my lockscreen before and it kept happening so I figured it wasn't it. I just disabled QuickLockScreen entirely in QuickBoard, however, and it seems to have fixed it. QuickBoard and QuickLockScreen must update the Events widget whether it is being used or not.

When you uninstalled Notifier, did your iPhone seem faster? I uninstalled it from mine a few days ago and am amazed at how much faster the phone seems.

At any rate, thanks for the help.

I'm glad i'm now legally unlocked cos it seems the holes for JB/Unlocked are getting closed up tight.

Still its a miniscule update though...

Does the "double-tap Home to open the music controls popup" feature work again yet?

yeah on my iPod Touch 3rd Gen , its been finicky as well.

Im also curious, since lately ive been getting alot of "Your iPod contains diagnostic information, show details or send to apple" dialogs when i connect it to my MacBook Pro but other comps dont see it  and have done everything from reformatting each device and redownloading all apps and doing a clean slate instead of migrating or resyncing

Depends on if you have a 3GS, or a 3G or 1g. The older models are able to revert back to 3.1.2.

OK, so *still* no fix for that extremely annoying bug that have many peoples iPod Touch playing random music or podcasts when the device "sleeps" or on wake-up when the Apple Headphones happens to be connected... Thanks Apple. Great work. Maybe you should check your forums to see what people are really ****** off about.

try turning off shake to shuffle

My upgrade just completed and no it isn't fixed. Scrolling through a list of podcast is still laggy/jumpy.

Apples update and announcements have been really **** of late.

This iPhone update is ****

the iPad is Wank

Get a grip Apple

This fixed the syncing issue with my "recently downloaded" smart play list, but it doesn't fix the content issue on my iPhone.

Not sure when it started happening, but I have a smart playlist that has the 60 most recently added songs in my library. Works fine on my computer.

But when I sync that playlist to my iPhone, it stores a bunch of much much older songs instead. I've tried everything. It's driving me crazy!
