I'm excited about iOS 5 and the potential that iCloud offers, but given the past fiascos with major iTunes revisions I'm gonna certainly watch and wait before updating ...

So does this fix the horrible interface or does Apple not think there is anything wrong with it?

i wonder how itunes match will work as far as the user creating files, naming them songs, and using them to get the actual songs from the itunes store under the blanket of the match service.

Probably takes a fingerprint of the file, just like Shazam does to ID the tune.

Match isn't out yet? That ruins half the point of iOS 5 for me. Oh well, I'll get it soon enough.

Just downloaded. BTW, anyone have any ideas what time Apple will be releasing IOS 5 tomorrow?

I read on a news site that the Covent Garden Apple Store said midnight, but unclear whether that is tonight, or tomorrow night. Because of the time difference, UK could well be Thursday morning.

I wonder if i should download this if i already have the beta iTunes match version. Any suggestions?

it seems like the japanee rumor is panning out, they said lion 10 7 2 and itunes 10 5 will come out BEFORE oct 12, so itunes came out, PLEASE Let lion come out today too. cant wait any longer,

iCloud backups are controlled via the device in the Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup setting. You won't see that until tomorrow...

I meant iTunes Wi-Fi syncing not iCloud backups.

Speaking of backups, it appears that if you have iCloud backups turned on then iTunes doesn't do backups when you sync. You have to toggle iCloud backups off to backup locally to iTunes (both wirelessly and by USB). I just assumed you could do both without toggling a control on/off each time.

Has anyone figured out how to keep different views for music, podcasts etc. ? It used to display my podcasts in album view, music in list with album pics on the left side. Now, whenever I change a view in one, it changes it for all the library items.

Wi-Fi syncing was one of my most anticipated features, but it turns out that it sucks. Your iPhone/iPad still has to be plugged into a power source. Cut the cord my butt.

Wi-Fi sync has nothing to do with iCloud

The question was - can I turn off Wi-Fi syncing and iCloud backups. The answer was yes - you can control Wi-Fi syncing in iTunes. My reply was for the other half of the question - iCloud backups are controlled through the device.
