And cover flow was great for when you're entertaining or having parties, can have the now playing song displayed complete with high res album art. A nice feature that should still be there.

"Up Next" is upcoming songs. It's in the info area at the top of the window.

Double click on the album art in that info area, too. Not cover flow, but does something for you.
 
Is it possible to see the songs Playcount in album view?
Surely don't have to go searching in Song view for this.
 
Ahh I double clicked on an album and it started playing it and now my up next is empty. i guess I have to go back to songs and pick a song there?
 
I'm having a problem.

It's only with Sabbath, but it's showing a single album as a separate artist...even though both have artist and album artist set to black sabbath

Has anyone figured out how to make the album cover thumbnails larger? Before there was a little slider that let you almost zoom in but I cant find that now? :confused: Just used to having them a bit bigger that's all.
 
lol, it seems all hell has broken loose. A lot of people seem to be upset with the new update..

The only grip I have so far is no more coverflow, which is disappointing..
 
Overall I'm fine with the changes, mainly because I can get the old power-user view back by tweaking a few options. I have two minor gripes:
  1. It seems you can no longer have the column browser on the left.
  2. The default font size is bigger, meaning you see less in your sidebar and list view.
One other question: does iTunes Match now support nested smart playlists? I would check myself, but I cancelled my subscription due to the lack of support for nested smart playlists.
 
I will admit, if you open iPhoto, Safari, and iTunes they are (finally) much more consistent in looks.
 
How to get Column Browser on the side?

In iTunes 10 I had my "Column Browser" (Artist/Album list) show up on the left side. I don't see a way to make this happen in iTunes 11. Anyone know how?
 
I don't see how UP NEXT replaces DJ. How can I simply move tracks up and down on a playlist as it is playing and seeing the new order? In DJ you could drag songs you want to play next. Or move some down the list. It seems in UP NEXT that does not happen.
 
It's pretty, fast and changes aren't that dramatic. I've never used CoverFlow so no biggie for me. Only thing thats annoying as hell is "add up next window" with "Play Song/Clear Songs" option. They should've set it as a preference option.

Rats. That's one thing I'd hoped Apple would address. The more video I put into iTunes for use with my :apple:TV, the more I realize the tagging for video is arse, and just based on olf MP3 tagging. They really need to get a good system for videos, TV shows and home movies. Although I guess simply having a Home Movies category is a step in the right direction.

Having the Exact same issue here :( .
 
sigh. i was so excited for this, but, im kind of frustrated right now.

i had all my music meticulously organized and sorted by "album" but with each artist "grouped". so that it wasnt one long jumble of album covers. each artist was separated from the next. it was just more pleasing to my eyes and helped me separate an artist from the next. but, thats fine... moving on.

my biggest gripe is when i click an album, it just basically gives you the album title and track title. thats it. gone are things like "comments", "icloud status", "bit rates", etc... i actually used those! i add comments to all my albums, i actually look at bit rates so i know if its a lossless track or an itunes purchase, etc. i cant even tell if a song was "matched" anymore!

i see the only way to do all this now is under "songs" tab (list view). sigh. i have to keep clicking all around itunes just to edit everything.

i usually love everything apple releases and i've never had a single issue with itunes until now.
 
Two things I noticed almost immediately are:

  • There isn't a composer view anymore
  • Cover Flow doesn't seem to be available anymore

The first is not that important for me. The second missing feature is something I think it is a trademark feature of iTunes.

Has anybody found these features somewhere? :)
