I'm really enjoying the new iTunes 11. Definitely in love with the new cleaner, simplified and modern look of the new UI! It's gorgeous and more contemporary. I love helvetica, one of my favorite fonts, don't care if its overused, there's a reason why, and it definitely shows here. Very clean looking font. So far I'm enjoying everything! iTunes 11 is a big step up from the older versions and I'm glad that it finally got a much needed update. Now I can enjoy my music in a more sleek, intuitive and attractive, modern-like way. :)

Well, considering the comments above, it really seems like this new version is an iOSified piece of ****.

Flawed list view, dual-column track list (an UI nightmare when you want to have a fluid list of your artist's songs), non-collapsible iTMS arrows, no iTunes DJ, no Cover Flow and so on...tough to accept.

One complaint, some side scrolling isn't working with my non-Apple mouse, even when I Shift+Scroll. Clicking and dragging seems to be doing the trick, however.

First time I've ever opened iTunes and it didn't lock up or lag. Well done Apple. Well done indeed. Surfed the store, listened to music, synced the iPad and iPhone while playing music and switching views, and it worked. Oh MY!

Search is instant but I've only got 35k songs on the NAS, so I may not be in as bad shape as others.

Has anyone tried importing video files that didn't come from iTunes to see if actually support all the formats that Quicktime does yet?

The rest of the program seems faster, but not search. Maybe it's related to library size? I've got about 65000 songs.

Should add I'm on a low-end Mac Pro (desktop tower, not a MacBook Pro) with 16 GB RAM. 3.2 GHz single processor. It really should be plenty fast for filtering -- it was with iTunes 10.7.

that's....a lot of songs

Ahh!!! Its driving me nuts that you can't set the background colour to 'Dark' anymore and can't increase size of the pictures... Aww... ):sad face:(

iPad 'other' 48+ GB according to iTunes 11?!

Wonderful. My iPad now shows it has an 'other' that is impossibly huge. Of course the iPad itself shows it has 9 GB free and is working fine. Won't sync. Hate to waste the extensive time on a 'restore' without knowing if this is just some bug in iTunes 11.

you just going to troll all day? i mean you sit around moaning about it before it's released, then moan more once it's out, and after a couple hours of a few issues people have, legitimize your moaning into even more complaining?

I am getting an error every time I click update in the Mac App Store. I already downloaded I think it is just having problems installing. Anyone else having this problem?

Edit: I found the problem it was iTunes opened in a different username.

cant wait till i get home from work to download and try this! :) loooks amazing compared to the horrible iTunes 10! :D glad the wait is finally over!

Suggestion: Before you start whining in a public forum about what something doesn't do, maybe you should spend some time making sure that you are correct. It just makes you look foolish. About half of the post here are OMG I can't do X, when you just haven't figured out which view or which settings to change. It would be comical if it wasn't filled with so much bitching. Take a breath before you freak out. There are some things that are gone, some that are different and some that are exactly the same but not immediately obvious.

Imported an MP4 into iTunes, watched it for a few seconds, and I was able to resume my music with the same Up Next songs still there. Lovely!

It's just the usual BRLawyer. I'm glad he has an avatar because it alerts me not to read his mindless drivel.

New version of the Remote app is out, and they added back the ability to keep connected to iTunes! Thank you Apple!! The delay in the last version was so frustrating. The app's new icon looks quite nicer as well.

As for iTunes 11, after I turned back on the sidebar and status bar I think I do like it overall, though I don't like the look of the control buttons or the general typography. Especially the sidebar with its overdone bevel highlights on the text. Makes everything hard to read and just rather inelegant. I do like having COLOR back in the mix though, and I hope that bodes well for 10.9. The mini player is MUCH improved. I love being able to finally rate songs from that mode. The dropdown "what's next" view is also great.

This is not trolling, it's just expressing one's opinion. The changes seem to be just what I feared.

Two questions I hope you can help me with:

1. How do i get the album cover back in the lower left corner?
2. How do I get the old instant search function back? I really liked the way it searched in the previous version.

I use iTunes everyday, and this is singlehandedly the best thing to happen to iTunes for me since I bought a Mac. I am IN LOVE with iTunes 11.
