This is no doubt the coolest feature, the backround color changes for every album, and it seems to work quite well

more cool is have the option for REMOVE that, thats is good, let the users choose, so I want the background in black for albums view etc...

Thanks; this settles it for me then. I m NOT upgrading to that POS now...at least will wait til all my questions are clarified, such as list view aspects, whether bit rates can still be easily seen etc.

iTunes 10.7 is rock-solid for me and my iMac; no bugs, no crashes, no slowness...and no reason to upgrade.

Great idea... I should've taken my own advice: one of the few features I use on iTunes - the Visualizer is f'd up now. It's impossible to run it in window mode, independently of the main window and/or without the header. And as always, the Full Screen Mode is USELESS for multiple screen setups (and Apple STILL wont fix that!!!!).

I've should've known better how Apple tends to screw things over...

Now I'm in to try and revert this without errors. Damn!

This has been a long running issue (check out all the apple forums about this issue)... I'm pretty meticulous about my library and every album has album cover associated to it.

For quite a while now when transferring over the album art disappears (again, this is a well known problem that apple has never addressed)... The only solution was to copy and paste the album artwork into the already transferred album on your iphone-tedious.

So just now I transferred 2 albums over and POOF- NO album art on my iphone. Nothing.

It was hoped this obvious issue would have been fixed... but NOPE.

And now I don't even know how to easily access the album artwork in 11! I right click on the album that shows the artwork but in the info pane- nothing!

Ugh... beyond annoying.

BTW I have an iphone 4 w IO6 and an IPad mini.

Wow, I've never had or heard of the issue, but I have no doubt it exists! Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

What happens if you get the info for just one song? For me, info on a whole album does not show the artwork, but individual songs do.

Nope, it doesn't always transfer. Bug.

Darn, I'm glad this has never happened to me.

Another site poster noted that the radio streams are gone. I use these as much as anything in iTunes. :(

Can anyone confirm, 'cos I don't have a late model iDevice and I'm not upgrading to lose that feature if it's truly gone???

And if so, I guess gone because less popular than podcasts (I went through 10 pages and no one else mentioned this), but no way to monetize (or monetize sufficiently - I don't know if the streamers ever paid Apple?), so sayonara radio feeds.....???

Don't know if anyone's answered you yet, but I found it via enabling my sidebar, then Library > Music. It ought to appear as a tab running horizontally at the top of the screen.

180mb of ram. 180.

It varies quite a bit from machine to machine, apparently. On my laptop (with only 1,200 of my 60,000+ tracks downloaded), currently using 654MB "real" memory / 967.9 "virtual" memory.

On my MacMini "server", all 60,000 tracks loaded, it's only using 297.6 / 306.5 ???

Hey thanks- at least I can access the artwork now (but WHY doesn't this appear when you click an album?)

And like last time it take 3 times to copy/paste before it actually shows on my iphone.

Thanks for NOT fixing a horrible bug there Apple.

I have not updated yet, but if it's true that there is no way to get the album art back in the lower left corner that is a deal breaker for me. WTF Apple?

You know what would be great? Having iTunes store most album art cover. Yes, I know not all albums are in iTunes especially older ones or because of the label but still it is really annoying not finding a album cover from iTunes and I know I can just copy and paste it from a website but not the same quality from iTunes store.

I'm not at my Mac tonight so can someone let me know please if the new iTunes rectifies any if the numerous known issues with artwork in iTunes Match? I have got all my iTunes artwork looking spiffy but despite restarting iCloud several times the changed artwork just WILL NOT show on my iPhone or ipad. I'm hoping iTunes 11 is the fix for this........

Haven't tested that glitch yet.
Current workaround is to backup items, delete from iCloud, reimport and get artwork. It will then update across your devices.

However, AppleTV will still show a cached version via Home Sharing.

Yeah, ikr? It was helpful in judging album art quality while getting rid of duplicate files. Anyways, overall I think it's a nice release. I do dislike how they got rid of the curved arrow in the main display that took you back to the currently playing song. Now it's a pulldown menu but it requires one more click than before. Not a deal breaker but I miss it.

So help me here. I LOVED DJ.

But if I choose a playlist now that I want to shuffle (Theoretically I could not see what was coming next in the old days), but so now we can see the next shuffled song on the UP NEXT list? But with DJ we could see the next 100 songs in order. So I am assuming now, this is no longer possible. Just the few that show up in UP NEXT?

Looks very nice, but scrolling and animations do seem a little laggy on my 2012 MBA! Not too bad.

No list view though?

Yes, the old list view drops any cover art, and only shows while playing - a thumbnail at that.

Any searches result in a stripped down listing.
The only solution is 2 window but I'm not sure if that's possible now. Will test later.

Even worse for iTunes Match users.

Well, the Artist, Album and Genre views all show album art, the player controls in the header show the art, the mini player shows the art, if the click on the small album art in the controls (mini or regular) you get a sizable control UI with the album art.

That seems like enough art without having that art in the lower left corner?

I'm so over Apple advertising. "Completely Redesigned"! Like we've all been wanting that!
So that means we've been using a substandard product all these years that needed an overhaul? The old one works for me, I'll hold off on the update and wait for "service pack 1" ;) to fix the bugs.

And off topic, why is a simple iPhoto software update over 1Gig? My lowly rural internet plan doesn't want to do that.
I've been wanting a redesign. I got it and love it. It's practically everything I could have asked for. To be honest, they've exceeded my expectations. I'm surprised! I can generally find minor gripes with every app so time will tell. But the look and the viewing options are excellent!

I don't use any of those views they are horribly inefficient. The mini player/control views are way too small, and having to click and have the window obscured is not a solution. Thanks though.

Except for the artwork, that was really nice and it seems it's gone now. Too bad.

It was redundant there so they moved it to the top center panel.

question: is this after you scroll around your library? most of the ram used from what i'm seeing is just album art being cached

It's funny, people petition for ages for itunes to finally get written for 64-bit, and once it does, people complain that its actually utilizing that memory

Ah thanks for that. I'd like to be able to hide individual songs, albums and artists too, but I don't think that's possible.
You can select the tracks you want to hide, right click, and delete.

YMMV: I did this once and they reappeared, did it again and they stayed gone.
