This iTunes update decided to reclassify all TV programs and movies I had added from DVD as "home video" for some reason. I was not impressed at having to spend most of the morning sorting this out!

I'm constantly amazed that Apple continues to allow such a shoddy piece of **** as iTunes to go out in their name.

Most of the morning? Just do a cmd-A, cmd-I, Options tab, dropdown Movie, hit enter. Done.

now i know why this is "curative" and no wonder everyone likes it, because at best u must select which artists you wish to listen to among other things..

I'm not trying to play connect four here, i just wanna listen to tunes :) I don't care about the artists, only genre.

Took me a while to prove my identity to Apple. involving not answering any security stuff, ended up using a few iCloud enabled devices with same Apple ID login in and verification code sent to one of them... I don't wanna do this again, but Apple do have good security.

You can an my word on THAT one.

Hating how I still have to have Safari open and allow cookies - Apple has told me that I shouldn't have to do this but I still do have to. It is annoying. Hoped it would be fixed in 12.2. And I don't have any 3rd-party apps that might be interfering with iTunes, well according to Apple...

That would have put them all into "Movies", including the "TV Shows". No easy way I could see to sort them (episode number helped, but for some reason I had a few films with episode numbers, and of course, many TV progs without ). Around a thousand video files took a while.

I'm really disappointed by the way Apple Music works. I thought I'd still go to the iTunes Store and look up music and select from there whether I want to buy or add to my Music and stream from there. I've made two accidental purchases as soon as I went on it. Why are they doing it like this...? It's so un-Apple like... and it's definitely not part of the "it just works" philosophy...
Interesting, despite being well separated, even much too well separated for your liking, it still wasn't separated enough for you to know whether you were in Apple Music or the iTunes Store.

In the new iTunes when I click the ... after a song/album one of the options is "add to devices". It brings up both my iPhone and iPad as options. However, when I click on "add to iPhone" it doesn't seem like anything happens.

Anyone know what this option is supposed to do?

For me, only movies had been moved into the 'Home movies' category, TV shows stayed TV shows. But how many TV shows longer than 70 minutes and how many movies shorter than 70 minutes did you have?

Well Apple Music isn't exactly off to a good start with me, logged in and it charged me £9.99 and no 3 month free trial! Now when I've signed out of iTunes and back in on iMac, Apple Music & Playlists have disappeared.
Anybody know how to get them back?

Its close to 10 hours since my last post, and App Store Update is still frozen. For an hour last night I'd get the grey App Store window, with buttons at the top and nothing else, not even a little number to tell me about the pending updates.THis morning, I got the full App Store window, with 3 updates showing. Clicking the button showed I had iMovie, Garage Band, and one other waiting, nothing about iTunes. Clicking Update gave me a nice frozen Update window. I closed it. Now when I re-open the App Store I'm back to the grey window.

I wish Apple had never gone away from the old "Software Update" menu item. That worked every time I used it.

Meanwhile, our iPad 4th gen loaded the 8.4 update without any delays or other nastiness.

I should add that checking for updates in iTunes finally show 12.2 available, but clicking there just takes me to the non-working App Store.

haha..... Apple music seems ok .... I gotta listen to to see. but so far its Taylor swift :) and a few others.... Hope thats not all..

For some reason i'm havin issues connecting to update iTunes on my Mac mini, but on Macbook pro, no problem.

I'm waiting for that Apple TV update. They did say iOS right ?

27 and 4 as it happens, but I had no idea before I just checked. A better way to sort them out (which I've only thought of now, typically) would be to move them all to "TV Programs" and then move the ones with blank in the "Programme" column to "Movies". Just found 3 I'd miss-filed using this.

Anyone else having trouble with the Mac App Store? Both my home and work computer won't load the new software updates (OS 10.10.4 and iTunes 12.2). Just keep getting the spinning wheel and the App Store Eventually freezes up.

Update: As of 11:30 central time the App Store suddenly started working again.

Not just you. Same thing here.
I'm actually looking forward for they to fix all the annoyances with El Cap. After this update smoothing all the visuals seems pretty possible to me.

That's what I'm most excited for. I started to believe that there was only so much software could do to fix the annoying lag here and there, but this iTunes update ( presumably with no metal) shows me that it is more than possible for Apple to dramatically improve the fluidity of the system. I can't wait for OS X El Capitan

I had the same problem, one suggestion from the forums here was to force-quit the softwareupdated process (via Activity Monitor or the Terminal) while the App Store app is running. For me this made the updates to proceed right away.

I wish Apple would fix the bugs in iTunes. Since version 12 there have been a lot of bugs. Tens of thousands of people have complained about them on the Apple forums and other discussion boards. But now nearly nine months later we still have these bugs. They should focus on making the program more stable and bug free rather than adding features.

IOS 9 and OS X El Capitan are their first promise. I agree that iTunes is full of bugs. But now they throw many things on apple music. I guess we still need to wait for a while to see if they will do something new.
