Thank god they fixed the sync issues betwen the Touch and iPhone, maybe I can start syncing the two devices on the same machine now.

"- Fixes a problem sorting albums with multiple discs."

and with this bugfix, I am officially upgrading to iTunes 9... well done, Apple! :)

Genius Playlists

So I just tried to activate/enable Genius playlists on iTunes (I had created a new library to just test out how Genius reacts to re-enabling it), and iTunes 9.0.1 still doesn't like having to send music data on 240GB of music :)eek:), so it can create Genius playlists later. It hangs for quite a bit (as if the application is "Not Responding"), but if you just leave it be for a while, it will pop out of this unresponsive state, and finally work.

Brilliant. I've been having really annoying freezing issues with iTunes 9. Do people really use the miniplayer? Can't stand the thing.

Constantly. If I'm in the house, I have itunes playing constantly and it is almost always in mini player. Fixing the green button was a hugely welcome thing.

It's been driving me crazy for the past eight years that it didn't behave like every other window. Now they broke it again, the cowards!

You were the only one. The rest of us are mighty happy it's back to working the way we know and love.

I was happy with the zoom button not switching to the mini player. When I unplug my external monitor, sometimes iTunes is too big to fit on the MBP screen, and there's NO way to resize it. I have to change resolutions and then the window resizes itself to something proper. I was SO happy that the zoom button made it work!

I'm with you on this one!
MiniPlayer should have it's own button.
I don't like how the zoom button works differently in every app.

Can somebody please enlighten me, why Software update weighs around 89.8mb and Apple's Website shows 82.95mb for the update?

Can you tell us what kind of system you have? And what other apps do you
typically run? Are you on Snow Leopard? Do any other apps give you this
much trouble? Do you run Time Machine?

For whatever reason, I have had none of the problems people have reported
with either SL or iTunes 9. So either I'm not using my system the way it was
intended or the way some people use it, or maybe the clean install I did with
Leopard earlier this year has cleaned out some of the cobwebs.

Strange . . .

I'm Running 10.5.8 on a 2.16ghz Core Duo PBook. w/ 2 Gig Ram. I have a small music library (8 gigs and around 1800 songs). This is my work / design computer so i have the Microsoft Office Suite, Entourage, Illustrator, Photoshop, Aperture, etc etc.

Initially it started up, then began to hang when it started the gapless playback work. After a reboot I turned that off, then it hung on setting up the genius feature. After a reboot I turned that off. Then it hung when communicating to the store. I gave up on 9.0. Today I installed 9.0.1 now it simply hangs before it lets me get to trying any feature at all. Force quit won''t work and it takes the whole system down.

A lot of the music I have however was burned from disc a long while back, I'm wondering if it is hanging while trying to access titles it can't find in the iTunes store database..?

I'll let it churn overnight and see what happens.

Thank God that clicking the zoom button switches to the mini player again. That's been driving me crazy!

Ask and you shall receive!

I must have sent 5 feedback forms bitching about the plus button. I love that actually listen and implement feedback. This is my second victory, my first was getting iTunes to not expand every time you docked your iPhone.

Not configurable? How do you select what folder to 'watch' then? :(

You can create an alias of the watch folder and then put that where ever you want. I don't think you can assign a random folder to be the watch folder.

What's the problem again? :D

The problem is with people who have tiny bandwidth limits. However, this is actually a problem with really bad ISPs rather than Apple, so if it helps to increase pressure on said ISPs to drag them kicking and screaming into the 21st century instead of pretending that it's still the '80s, maybe it's a good thing.

Anyway, this update fixed the problems I was having with browsing the app store, so that's sorted then.

I just want 2 things from Apple Developers:

1. Hope the .1 update will fix me downloading the Apple September Video Podcast...Ya..it's lamb but see I still can't upload the freaking video from the last Apple events...Keeps downloading...downloading...downloading...What Apple.

2. I hope that Apple's developer is smart enough to disable Checking software updates twice...WTF...do you need to check for software updates twice...
I check for updates in iTune and when I click "Download itunes" it checks again...Waste of time and resources....Apple please fix.

It checks twice because sometimes there are other software updates that are only available once earlier ones have been installed.

For instance going from 10.5 to 10.5.8 would show a mass of updates on the first pass, once these were installed another set of updates would appear that can ONLY be installed once 10.5.8 is running. That is why you get two checks. And it has to do it because every machine has a different software collection on it, which Apple need to check to ensure you have all the correct versions.

I still can't download that video, it starts the download for about 10 seconds then stops. :(

Problem with Home Sharing over Wifi?

Ever since I upgraded to iTunes 9.0.0 and enabled Home Sharing on 2 computers (iMac and Windows notebook), my wifi connection on both computers drops out shortly after iTunes is started and the Home Sharing synching starts.

I have not encountered a problem with my wifi network before and the problem with the dropped wifi connections stops on each computer after I quit iTunes on that computer. I've reset the router a couple of times as well, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and/or does anyone know whether v9.0.1 fixes this?

Thanks.
