How is it people would vote negative for a software upgrade which fixes known issues?

If you saw a headline, "Apple cures cancer," people would vote it down. I think it's just set on a macro.

I wonder when they'll address streaming to airtunes. Annoying as all hell when the sound drops :(

Wow - iBooks with regard to PDF reading is now actually speedy enough to be (very) usable on an iPhone 3G. More fluid animations and greater responsiveness overall - good update :)

The hell you say! Usable is an awesome step forward for the 3G.

iTunes update ... I think until it goes cocoa and 64-bit these are going to be a bit dull, but it lists specific issues so that's cool for those that had them.

IMO if they could get rid of the several second freeze when it mounts an iPhone or similar, and also stop that indenting everything in the source pane, we'd be getting somewhere. Then also debloating it and actually separating out the non-music stuff would be nice - ship syncing off to iSync, maybe then it might be of some use :).

That has nothing to do with iTunes if it's Finder.

I knew someone would say that ;) ... See this thread

http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2464851&start=0&tstart=0

And also part of this one

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/942301/

This issue occured on every mac I seen upon installing iTunes 9.2. I even tried clean installs of both 10.5 and 10.6 starting with iTunes 9.1 and moving on to 9.2. and the problem started directly after 9.2. The artwork appears fine in the finder within the iTunes music folder, but I you copy a file to the desktop for example, it's gone.

Then don't update. Unless an update resolves a security problem, fixes something you were experiencing, or adds support for something you need support for, don't update!

I wasn't very serious. :) I can't remember an update ever seriously messing up anything for me. In my experience, much more often, things get more speedy, and stability is improved, so I do like to stay current.

(I also wanted to be the 5th person in a row to start their post with "hope" or "hopefully")

- Disables older versions of some incompatible third-party plug-ins
- Addresses minor issues with dragging and dropping items
- Addresses a performance issue when first syncing to some devices with iTunes 9.2
- Addresses an issue upgrading to iOS 4 on an iPhone or iPod touch with encrypted back-ups
- Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance

- Breaks Requiem...

Hopefully this will get rid of those stupid "free song of the week"'s, because in 5 years, I've found ONE artist there that was listen-to-able.

It's a classic marketing ploy. Companies want you to think that anything free or low-priced isn't worth having.

How is it people would vote negative for a software upgrade which fixes known issues?

They may be down-voting due to the fact that there are issues requiring a fix, since there's no other way to voice an opinion on that fact.

I know over the course of the last three years, my satisfaction with Apple has dropped from five stars to about 3.5 due to the unrelenting number of bugs in Mac OS X, OS X server, QuickTime, Safari, and Aperture. I worry they're growing too fast, and that mediocrity is creeping up. Seems to be a lot of excuses flying out of Cupertino.

How deep is this update?

I don't remember ever seeing this deep of changes with just an iTunes update.

PS. Sorry.....I'm a geek and look at this stuff
