2 questions..

1.) Did They integrate facebook & twitter with iTunes?

2.) Is there a video download for the event. I haven't been able to find online

1. Yeah but it's really lame. You can only share iTunes Store songs and stuff.

2. Nope. Not online yet.

I was really hoping for a last.fm integration.

The readme says its got HE-AAC support.

Yeap; I assume it'll only be supported in the newly released iPods though; the limit for AAC-HE encoding is 80kbps - I'm still looking at information on what everyone else thinks; so far I've encoded a single song to see what it would be like in terms of quality and it is fairly good.

Did you update both iTunes and your iPhone?

Nope...already figured out that is my issue. Haven't updated my phone yet. I always wait a day or two for the hysteria to quell itself (servers not bogged down) and to make sure there isn't some bug. I'm too reliant on my phone.

Thanks for the idea though.

Steve

Does anyone know how (or if) you can get iTunes LP or Movie Extras for albums you already own? I already got Wall-e from iTunes and was hoping to get the extras.

App Store

What's up with the new App Store. Did they get rid of the categories? Pretty lame. Not to mention, the sliders are so skinny, they're barely clickable.

The only thing I really dislike about the new iTunes store is that I can't use the controls on my keyboard to play and pause sampling a track on iTunes or going to the next track. You can pause it hitting the pause button on your keyboard but you can't play it again.

I agree, previewing songs is not as intuitive as before. New iTunes users might get confused at first.

Wuzup wit da minimize?

Ninety nine percent of the time my iTunes player is shrank to title and button -- that is before iTunes 9.
Now it must be minimized to the Dock. Clicking the plus button no longer does it. Nor does dragging the corner resizer.

iTunes no longer shrinks. Arg!

Houston, we have a problem.

You can ALT+click the green button. Just clicking the button is messed up, centers the window without maximizing it, and it's behind the dock (at least in Snow Leopard) which is kinda annoying.

Give iTunes some love, apple. How about a 64 bit Cocoa version for those few iTunes users stuck on the Mac platform?

This is actually a more standard behavior for the green button.

iTunes 9 Review:

http://jimlynch.com/index.php/2009/09/09/itunes-9-review/

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship going with iTunes. On one hand I’ve loved the sheer amount of content I could get from it. Movies, music, audiobooks, iPhone apps…there’s just a ton of stuff available in the iTunes store. But I’ve also been annoyed by its slowness, clunky interface and various other things.

So I was very happy today that Apple announced iTunes 9 at the “It’s Only Rock and Roll” special event. This is a very important upgrade to iTunes that fixes a number of past problems and also adds a lot of value for iTunes customers as you’ll see when you read this review.

Can't update Genius either ?

I've been trying to update Genius since I installed iTunes 9, but I always get an error message (it can't connect to the store).

Am I the only one with that problem?

iTunes 9 Genius says it's "Uploading information to Apple" but has been for over an hour now so something seems hosed.

Anyone have success updating Genius after upgrading to iTunes 9 on Mac? I wonder if turning Genius off and back on would help ? Would I loose my existing Genius playlists ?

Thanks,
E

What I will say that I really enjoy about the new iTunes is that I can now use Genius for songs that are not in the iTunes store. So like mashups, mixes, songs not available now work.
