Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.4.9

Installed on my 2.66 Macpro,

No problems so far. My wifi range has improved 10 fold.

My pro is in the back upstairs room of my house, router in the front downstair s room.

I got 4 bars, down to 3, now for the first time ever, I have the full 5 bars, and the internet connect app is only 3 bars of full strength!!!!

The connection is snappier, and I'm chuffed to bits....

Now to see if aperture (what a dog  ) is any faster.

10.2.8 was released on October 3, 2004, followed by the release of 10.3 on October 24 (21 days later).

10.3.9 was released April 15, 2005 followed by the release of 10.4 14 days later, on April 29.

Leopard must be close.

Nice pattern. One thing to remember, with both the Panther and Tiger release, the release date was known at the time of those updates, so it made sense that those updates were coming.

hmm if they keep on following that pattern, then it means that 10.4.9 was released on March 13, 2007 followed by the release of 10.5 7 days later, on March 21st.

21 days, 14 days, 7 days.

i doubt i'm right, but who knows.

And yes, as someone else pointed out, 7 days is March 20th.

Which happens to be the first day of Spring. So technically they have from next Tuesday till June 20th to release it.

Is not restarting after the 10.4.9 plus iphoto update, i just get a folder sign with a question mark thats all , i hope somebody can tell me what to do to fix this, i don't wanna be reinstalling al my apps from scratsch again.
Damn.

try holding the power button until it turns completetly off. Then press it once to turn on again. If the exact same thing happens again boot off of your system disk and run the disk utility, which is in the menu before you even start to install anything.

** note ** only do this if you get a question mark, because installing this update will delay start up the first couple times and make it SEEM frozen. In some cases you may even hear your fans rev up, this is normal.

Got an error message when updating. All other updates (iPhoto) were fine. Then I got to the bottom of the list and it said, "There was an error with the installation." Then it jumped to the "Shutdown or Restart?" window. Now it's frozen at bootup.

lol

I hope not, many developers have reported that OSX 10.5 have critical bugs still ( and not fit for release ).

Hopefully Tiger won't be Apple's equivalent of Vista.

Apple have stated Spring 07, so Apple should take the extra time to avoid another 10.4.0 ( and worse, Vista quality ) release.

*Thats Spring in the northern hemisphere :-D so Tiger isn't late yet.

Those critical bugs may actually have been fixed in Apple's internal builds. In fact, I believe they were on the "known issues" list, meaning they would probably also be somewhat easy for Apple to fix anyway. So that argument might not be valid. (Apple would perhaps not fix the bugs in the developer's version because they do not wish to mix their internal and external branches too much to help prevent leaking of new features.)

So, Leopard could very possibly come this month or early next month.

I just installed the update on my Rev A 20" Intel iMac and my brother's Rev A Black MacBook. Both installed fine but, upon startup on the iMac I was greeted by the Setup Assistant which wanted my Dot Mac information, after that it registered me with Apple and said Thank You - as if I re-installed Mac OS X...odd.

Well I guess it doesn't hurt to register twice :p ...or does it!?

If your still having a problem maybe try following on Apple's web page here. :)

Thanks For The Reality Check BankShot

Coincidence. 10.1.5 was released 80 days before 10.2 (June 5, 2002 to August 24, 2002). Apple doesn't obsess over apparent patterns where there are none, contrary to popular belief on this site.

Leopard will not be released before June, mark my words. ;)
Glad to read one marked set of words we can cool our heels until June. Appreciate that promise BankShot. You're my hero. ;) :D

For some reason when I logged back in after the update, the Setup Assistant with its swoopy Welcome! movie decided to run, and I had the speakers up kind of loud. Ooo-WOOOOoooo-oooOOO! Scared the living **** out of me, it did.

Hoping for some good fixes in iPhoto. Has anyone found a list of changes for iPhoto? I'll admit that I haven't tried to look...

Yah, I'm still stuck at the startup screen. My little circle loader is having a blast.

Can anyone point me to the right direction to when this happens and how it may be solveable??

After the update iSync found my Ericsson Mobile Phone K800i. I previously had a plugin from feisar installed and hat to remove it first. After that iSync worked great.

It seems that the supported mobiles have been increased. Did anyone find a link with all new supported devices?
