okay, this is a bit wierd - is anyone else having issues with iSync?

it seems to not want to open at all? I've restarted to no avail.

Isnt Tiger going to need a full update fixing its own final issues and and to work properly with all the new gadgets? 10.4.12!
----------

Just installed it, haven't really noticed anything different, but I assume that there wasn't much for features or fixes figuring the small size, but rather added support for MobileMe and iTunes 7.7, at least nothing isn't performing worse.

Sort of. When I first opened iCal after the update, it took about 5-10 minutes updating my calendar (I assume that this has something to do with MobileMe support.) When I tried to sync my iPhone, it got stuck on contacts, although I only have 150. I replaced all my iPhone contacts with data from my Mac, and now iCal and Address Book sync fine.

I just tested that. I can't get it to open either. I _knew_ I shouldn't have updated. It seems that with Leopard, Apple _never_ do their job properly. :–(

I wonder what else will be cocked up this time around.

I wonder if MobileMe will be arriving July 11th?

They should have picked July 8th, it's a Tuesday.

Does not list ARDAgent vulnerability as fixed - still gives everyone root access with no programming skills needed.

Its pretty lame, just got it today too :p (the tablet)

I deleted all of the Wacom software and started from scratch, still didnt work

You can't just delete it, you need to run the uninstaller to clean it up properly before a complete reinstall. It's in the Applications folder under Wacom.

I had this issue with 10.5.3 when I updated.

I've helped some people that had the trouble with Macs not reconnecting to their home or business network. In most cases it was necessary to delete the com.apple.airport.preferences.plist and NetworkInterfaces.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and then rebuild the whole network configuration from the ground up.

Oh, and here's something I've found out with Tiger - not sure yet if Leopard does the same thing: If you manually connect to a wireless network and checked the "save password" option, then the password is saved in the Keychain. But a wireless network password entered in the "preferred networks" Airport panel is saved in the airport.preferences.plist, and NOT in the Keychain file. In case a wireless network name/password was saved in both Keychain and the airport.preferences.plist, even if the passwords are the same, most Mac's just refuse to reconnect automatically. If often helps to delete all wireless network related items from the Keychain and leave only the settings in the Airport Preferences.

Terrible upgrade! iSync won't load plus Airport problem not fixed!

Like thousands of others, my Macbook WiFi has steadily died such that it no longer works at all. So I greeted 10.5.4 with enthusiasm. After re-starting, not only have Apple failed to fix the WiFi problem (I am typing this using my emergency 3G USB dongle from Vodafone here in the UK), but I cannot sync with my Nokia N95 8G anymore and the iSync application will not run! It just sits there in the dock, and when clicked in the apps folder, won't run either.

Now my machine is almost a brick!

What the F*** Apple?

My EEE PC 7" that cost £1000 less than my 2 year old MacBook never crashes, connects to all WiFi networks I encounter - and includes some nice built in apps. I am so close to dumping Apple and switching to a solid state EEE PC 901 or 1000.

I beg to disagree. Apple stores price it for $69 with a new Mac, and that is when a customer is told they need it. From an accounting perspective, don't think that $99 is profit. How much does the packaging cost, the servers, the software engineering, extensive testing? You need to learn the difference between revenue and your wishful thinking of what profit is.

From an Apple Retail Manager's perspective, this has a very high profit margin, for the company as a whole, it likely has less. I know that the store does have a higher percentage of markup for .Mac than for a computer or an iPod.

Based on this forum's grammar issues, I'm sure that very few of you will shine at math and the accounting aspect of this product.

No need to make personal attacks, and you'll notice I said nothing about profit, I was just simply stating that it is a success.

Sure there are different price points, lower with a mac, more if you buy a family pack. Don't just assume your always going to be right, and don't start attacking peoples grammar to prove a point you could of done without doing so. No one here deserves that kind of an attitude.

Are your sure that the problem isn't your router? And this update wasn't really a fix update, if so, it would have been larger.
