I have a Gigabit Airport Extreme Base Station and don't have any problems with it. I would shy away from calling this general a Leopard issue.

I dont have a problem with my AEB router either. I wouldn't shy away because IT IS a Leopard issue

1. Im not the only one with this issue
2. Airport works fine on my 11 month Tiger install.
3. Also works peachy with my 12" PB running Tiger
4. ALL machines running Leopard in this house drop connections

Logic would state Leopard is the anomaly would it not?

HELP! I just updated, it restarted and now it wont boot! All I get is a white screen after I hear the boot sound, any ideas? This is the first time this has happened to me, I have so much important stuff I didn't backup, any ideas anyone?

The initial reboot after install can take a while. Let is sit for a bit (took about 5 minutes on my MacBook Pro)

Mate, you need to get 2GB. I have the same processor as you in my 20" iMac, and 2GB makes ALL the difference. 1GB just doesn't cut it. Regular, non-hardcore-graphics-design-gamer-use means my mac is usually using between 1GB-1.5GB of RAM. It makes all the difference in the world!:D

It's been sitting on this white screen for over 10 now. I had to sneak on to my brothers windows computer to type this. If it doesn't recover, what can I do?

Well thats odd, I just ended up disconnecting my iPod, held the power button to turn it off, and turn it back on, and it worked.

Odd.

If it does not do anything in a couple more minutes try restarting the computer. Hold down the power button for about 30 seconds and it should restart the computer.

PS (I highly recommend backing up - Time Machine was made for things like this)

is this because of the new update?

You say that, but they have over a million active users, so it's obviously a success. What's a million x $99 again?

I beg to disagree. Apple stores price it for $69 with a new Mac, and that is when a customer is told they need it. From an accounting perspective, don't think that $99 is profit. How much does the packaging cost, the servers, the software engineering, extensive testing? You need to learn the difference between revenue and your wishful thinking of what profit is.

From an Apple Retail Manager's perspective, this has a very high profit margin, for the company as a whole, it likely has less. I know that the store does have a higher percentage of markup for .Mac than for a computer or an iPod.

Based on this forum's grammar issues, I'm sure that very few of you will shine at math and the accounting aspect of this product.

Adium works for me.

Intuos3 drivers work for me..

Airport (still) works perfectly for me...

Update (incremental using Software Update) worked for me.. Like they always do. Either I'm really lucky or some of you guys are really unlucky.

Updated 2 Intel based iMacs to 10.5.4 here with no issues.

FWIW, we've had no AirPort dropouts ever on either machine (using an AirPort Extreme 802.11n base station) since upgrading to Leopard several months ago. All continues to connect and work perfectly.

Give this a shot (if it definitely worked before the update):

First time MacBook owner. Was wondering what the difference was if you upgrade using the software update tool or this combo update? Thanks!!

The combo updater will include basically the entire package of updates from 10.5.0 to 10.5.4. And, is generally the most sure fire way to success.

It essentially replaces a good portion of the system in one motion, and brings you up to date.

The software updater method is smaller, and only supplies what you need to get from where you are at this moment to 10.5.4.

The Software Update method is typically more likely to cause issues. Not necessarily the fault of the smaller updater. But, could be caused by some system files that were already out of wack, and the update just brought the issue to life.

Since the Combo updater replaces almost everything, it likely will replace potentially out of wack / corrupted files that might otherwise kill a smaller update.

Whatever the cause, the Combo updater is usually the most successful.

My MacBook Pro did the same thing. I had to hold the power button for about four seconds to force it to shut off. After turning it on again, I haven't seen any problems.

Aren't the iMovie and iDVD updates from 6/10/08? I've run SU 4 times now and nothing is up.
