Archive & Install doesn't touch the user space.Ok looks like i need to reinstall. Does Archive and Install save all my files and data, like everything on my hard drive?
Archive & Install doesn't touch the user space.
You have a backup already though, right?

I've just found that more often than not around here when something goes tits up people are caught without a backup.I have a Mac - I don't get viruses, and I don't need to backup.
____
Just kidding - of course I have multiple backups, including some of them offsite.
It's a matter of when your disk(s) will fail, not if your disk(s) will fail. Your backup disk(s) will fail too.
I'm holding off for this one...
At least until we get some feedback about the...possible effects of .8![]()
anybody having this issue?
I have an Airport Extreme with an external USB drive hooked up to use for Time Machine with my macbook. Seems that this update broke that. When it tries to do a backup, it just stays stuck on "preparing backup". I'm not happy.
i suppose i've left it for ten minutes. i'll leave it for now and not touch it. what has me concerned is that it never gets to the point where it says preparing "x.x mb" or whatever. it just says 'preparing backup'. is that normal?

it's backing up now. patience has never been one of my strong points. and add to it the fact that my wife is pregnant with our first and she's due any minute, i'm a little edgy![]()

It's fast if you don't install iLife.Just wait. Archives and Installs are actually very quick.
And congrats too.
Yes. Me too. I was just looking at that before the upgrade and it was not there. Now it is. I wonder what good it will do there?
Anybody else see a new Motion Sensor in System Profiler under Hardware Overview. Can't remember if it was there or not!
I figured I would have been the first one to notice this... something tells me this has something to do with hackintoshes...
everything is super laggy and slow after this install. Am I the only one?
