Perhaps there are some problems with Snow Leopard?

I'm glad that it's working for you but that sadly doesn't apply to everyone.

Well, I am just gonna take the first post because the rest of the complaints is pretty much subjective BS.

Cons.
No video as desktop function - DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS.
Quicktime options gone. - You don't need them, but if you want you can install a separate pref pane.
That damn beach ball. - NONE here.
Safari crashing at way too often. - Safari crashed only once in 2 months.
Damn beach ball again - NONE here.
Safari taking longer to load pages. - WRONG.
Beach ball again - NONE here.
Trash and the securely delete function. What exactly was wrong with 'empty trash' then disk utility erase function? - BS.
IDVD, taking 30 to 40% longer to burn disk. (this one really takes the !!!!) - DON'T USE IT.
Opening applications takes longer. Boring!!!!! - WRONG.
Beach ball yet again - NONE here.
Systems hangs a lot more. There's that flaming beach ball again - NONE here.

Net result? ZERO problems.

Yes. With every OS, and every update to the OS there are bugs. Some bugs are particularly nasty, but luckily with OS X they hardly ever affect more than a minority.

Lol, when did I ever say there wouldn't be bugs? I said the DATA LOSS bug was inexcusable. Here is Apple advertising what a pain in the ass it is to upgrade from XP to 7 but here they have a bug which erases all data if you do something as simple as logging into a guest account. If anything here is asinine it's that.

it didnt fix my flickering macbook unibody.
still small and annoying flicker when using battery power.
it is the last time i buy an apple product.
A 400$ laptop has a better screen then this macbook.

Bye, went to ebay to sell this ****.........

So, we assume you attempted to resolve this first? No luck? What did Apple customer service have to say about this?

Why can't I get Spotlight to read my comments and keep my browsers from crashing when selecting a file to upload?

I don't see how claiming ignorance or declaring someone else wrong somehow makes the existence of problems disappear.

This is the company with the FASTEST response to customers' needs! CONGRATULATIONS, APPLE, FOR GIVING US THE BEST OS ON EARTH! BANZAI!

MS IS DEAD. DELL IS DEAD.

Oh stop being an Apple FREAKIN commercial all of time.

IT'S GETTING REALLY FREAKIN OLD, Steve Jobs.

If that happens to you then it's worse, especially if you don't have a backup (although it seems most people on MR want to excuse Apple by saying "everyone should have their data backed up"). But more people were adversely affected in more ways for a longer time with 10.5.1 than with 10.6.1.

Maybe you weren't here in February 2008 when MR users were running Software Update every 15 minutes and begging Apple to release 10.5.2.
Just because more people are complaining about it doesn't mean it's a bigger problem.

well

they replaced 2 logic board and it didnt work, so they gave me
a new macbook- but still the same problem.

smaell weird flicker.
it looks similar to a low refresh rate.

He is being sarcastic

Look at the last part of his post

499 MB download for both my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro.

9 minutes to install, haven't noticed any differences yet...

Did they fix OpenGL yet? You know how our OpenGL is performing about half as well with SL as it did with Leopard.

Nope. Look here:

Interesting. My early 2008 Mac Pro weighed in at 500mb while the iMac and Macbook's weighed in at 157mb.

Why? :)

Looks like I'm waiting for 10.6.3 ...

I installed Leopard starting from 10.5.2
And actually stopped updating after it was 10.5.6

Fix for Mail forgetting passwords?

Anyone know if this fixes Mail's inability to remember my Hotmail and/or Yahoo passwords?

Exciting update

Is it just me or the fact that Mac users get excited when 10.6.# update rolls out. I don't see Windows users get happy about when an update comes along and I'm not talking about service packs here.

2009 mac mini upgraded to 10.6.2 BLUESCREEN

I updated my mac mini 2009 (HOOKED UP TO SAMSUNG Flatscreen) and after restart the computer never seems to fully reboot. I usually remote into this computer because it is my HTPC. When I try to remote in it says sharing not enable, go to preferences and enable it. I know for a fact it is enabled because I shared screen prior to the update.

The weird thing is I can see the folders and files from my other macs. Also, when I turn the monitor on it is just a bluescreen with a spinning ball at the bottom. It is like it does not recognize the monitor after the update. Any ideas? HELP????

Nope. Look here:

That's frustrating, I was hoping that would be fixed.

The combo update is taking ages for me, I've heard it's pretty quick via Software Update but I just feel happier using the combo. I guess I won't be updating until tomorrow.

Does Apple test these updates at all or am I just unlucky?? I have a brand new Macbook Pro 15" that came with Snow Leopard installed. Just did this update and this is what I've found:

- After installing, Safari crashes constantly (crashed 4 times before I could post this)
- Mail attachment / delete issue still exists (can't delete a file after you've attached it to a email until you quit mail)
- Bluetooth is disconnecting constantly (keyboard, brand new batteries, loses connection and repeats what ever character you last typed)
- My desktop background was set back to default background
- iChat hangs when you start a new chat (spinning beach ball of death for about 2 minutes before you can type and send a message)

Time to go back to 10.6.1. This is ridiculous... other than the mail problem, everything worked fine before I updated.
