Yea, we're supposed to have 10Mbps Download, 1Mbps Upload.

It sucks, because there is something wrong with it, so the actual download speeds are much slower, and if you're downloading a large file suck at the Combo Update, it goes slower and slower. My Sprint phone is faster sometimes, and I'm out of the EVDO network.

Yikes, that's no good. I mean I am paying for the top speed option, but it's no surprise that bandwidth is abysmal everywhere in the US anyway.

Safari is beachballing quite a lot for be while loading pages since the update.

They did improve the flash "plug-in" app.

Part of Safari.

Really?

Safari fixes provided for:

a graphics distortion issue in Safari Top Sites
Safari plug-in reliability

Where does it mention, "flash" improvements"? Please provide a source.

I'm taking this VERY cautiously now. There's no way I'm going to upgrade from Leopard. I'm installing Snow Leopard on it's own drive to save the hassle of trying to find a way to get it to work. I have 10.6.2 combo downloaded and now it's off to an adventure.

I never thought I'd have to take this much care for OS X.

My iChat sounds wont' come out of my line out anymore. It comes out my internal speakers :(

Anyone else noticed slow wakeup from sleep in 10.6.2?

I just updated and now my iMac takes an extra 5-10 seconds to come back up from sleep state, as compared to 10.6.1.

OMG!!!!!!!!! That's an eternity!! I hope Apple fixes this right away! Maybe you should send a bug report to them? In the meantime, there is no way I'm going to update now. I can't be waiting around for my computer to wake up. My time is too special.

I lost access to all my mobileme "smart mailboxes" and other folders. I can only access inbox, outbox and trash. Not too cool. Maybe its something else I've screwed up.

Kind of like you and the hard-on you've got for that guest account bug. Just because you complain about it constantly doesn't mean it affected more than a handful of people. And now it's fixed so hopefully we can all move on.

Internet tough guy at its finest.

Yeah, i've got a hard on for the guest account bug. I can't believe you figured me out.. 10.5.1. was fixed a while ago, why don't you tell them to move on? Because you've got a hard on from acting tough on the internet.

Oh God, I hope so. I didn't pay $19 to just use iTunes.

You ≠ everyone. We love Apple as well, but you might be loving Apple a little bit more than is considered healthy.

neither does the minor group of ranters equate to everyone.

There's a reason no one uses it, and that reason has nothing to do with its' definition.

The rants without actual technical skill to discuss System log outputs amount to worthless rants.

dont know if anybody can help but after i updated it reset my screens color to a more darker look. I tried the color profiler but i cant seem to get it to work like it use to in leopard. Did anybody else have this problem?
Hi! I found the same problem too. It looks like the gamma has being changed or something. Just feeling that the color doesn't seem right as before.

Anyone has found this problem, too?

EDIT: My Mac is a Unibody MacBook Pro 13 inch version (2.53 GHz; 4 GB RAM)

Working fine in Safari here.

Try turning the feature off, then back on (System Preferences > Mouse)

It's taken several reboots to finally get everything working properly, including Forward / Back on the Magic Mouse in Firefox. I had the EyeTV software set to load on boot on my iMac, but as soon as I disabled that everything seems to be working fine. I haven't had any problems after the update on my MBP.

about to update to 10.6.2

Before talking about my strategy for updating to 10.6.2, I have to say that reading some of the posts on this topic had me LMAO rolling on the floor, etc.... I just about went to the grocery store for more popcorn, but realized I have to get to bed for work tomorrow.

Anyway onto the strategy...I will run time machine and then duplicate my boot drive as it's on 10.6.1 to my other internal hard drive on my 17 inch MB Pro (yeah, I replaced the Super Drive and hardly miss it, and it is so nice to have an on board backup in case i need it via partitioned second hard drive). After duplication, I will upgrade my main boot partition to 10.6.2 and check it out. Should be fine, but it is simply a no-brainer to backup your system as it is working before upgrading for a 150-500MB update.

Hope y'all do well with it. I will update tomorrow. I have spent all evening switching to the new Motorola Droid phone by Verizon. It is great and I look forward to using it extensively as it is designed for.

Take care.

I've had that problem with 10.6.1-- won't mount a USB flash drive. Rebooting fixes it, but not much else. Not enough experience with 10.6.2 yet to know if it's been fixed, but I don't see it in the release notes.

i think i have a dieing drive... :( time to hook it up to Spin Rite and see if i can fix it for now..
