Safari seems slower to me, but thats probably just our ghettonet acting up:

I seem to also be having a lot of input lag. It wouldn't take a mouse click for a while and my typing is also delayed. It appears they turned off the spinning beach ball for the fix, instead of actually fixing the issue.

The update has been working great so far. *knock on wood*

Me either - the posting said "until good time" while the link was for "in good time". The latter is a well known idiom, while the former is perhaps a typo?
Typo, maybe. But he started by saying that hard drives don't randomly die, but depending on how I look at the use of until, it sounds like he's now saying they fail quickly. Which, I guess, isn't randomly...

That's the problem to linking to random dictionaries rather than just explaining yourself--

You can install Candelair (free) and Apple Remote work like a charm in Snow Leopard.
Oh my God that is awesome. I can't tell you how long I've waited for something like this. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on this one (although it looks like it was just released). Thanks for that!
And remember activated the "Leopard compatibility mode".

Just because more people are complaining about it doesn't mean it's a bigger problem.
Kind of like you and the hard-on you've got for that guest account bug. Just because you complain about it constantly doesn't mean it affected more than a handful of people. And now it's fixed so hopefully we can all move on.

In Mail when I right click on an email address and copy address it not only copies the address but also the name associated with the address and the address is in < > which makes it hard to use unless I delete out the name and the brackets.
There was a fix for this recently posted on HawkWings. It requires updating a preference from the command line, which suggests this was an intentional change on Apple's part (so won't be fixed as a bug, but might be changed due to public outcry).

I'm still having the issue of trying to connect to a Snow Leopard media server using SMB with my AppleTV/XBMC. Never saw any issues with 10.5. Anybody else having any Samba issues?

Are you able to connect using afp: instead of smb:? I had this issue once upgrading to SL and connecting to servers at work.

Yes. I still can't connect to directories on my company Windows network that I can connect to in 10.5. I have no idea what changed... 10.6.2 hasn't fixed it.

I have a list of first names in Pages. I make a PDF using the built in print to PDF feature then open the PDF and select the list (each one separated by a return) and copy and paste into a spreadsheet. The returns are missing and seems to pick a predetermined length per cell before it wraps to a cell lower. This was fine in 10.5 but not now in 10.6.

I have loads of lists that I need to import into spreadsheets. If I use Pages, then I do File->Export as Plain Text, if I use TextEdit, I just save the lists as TXT files, using either tabs or commas to separate say, Surname, Firstname.

I then open the TXT file in MSExcel and they appear in columns and rows as they're meant to. If I need to bring these into an existing spreadsheet, I copy & paste from within Excel rather than from the TXT file.

Yea, we're supposed to have 10Mbps Download, 1Mbps Upload.

It sucks, because there is something wrong with it, so the actual download speeds are much slower, and if you're downloading a large file suck at the Combo Update, it goes slower and slower. My Sprint phone is faster sometimes, and I'm out of the EVDO network.

Keychain issue fix

Anyone know if this fixes Mail's inability to remember my Hotmail and/or Yahoo passwords?

You should open the Keychain Assistant application and use the "Keychain First Aid" option in the Keychain menu to verify and fix your keychain. It sounds like you've got a problem similar to one I ran into.

It's more straightforward with SMB as XBMC has that built-in (don't have to turn anything extra on). With 10.5 all I had to do was add a drive from my server and turn SMB on in the options. Then, in XBMC, I simply browsed for an SMB share and they automatically appeared. Now....nothing.

I could turn AFP on with NitoTV, which works okay other than there used to be a memory leak and I don't think he fully supports the AppleTV past 2.1 (I think). Was really hoping 10.6.2 would fix the SMB issue.

softwareupdate slow!

softwareupdate is going at about 150kb/s for me :( going to somewhere like kernel.org (1000mbps site) I am clearing 3MB/s from them... argh! I was really hoping to deal with the update problems tonight (if any)...

plus I heard Safari was snappier after the update.

slow wakeup from sleep?

Anyone else noticed slow wakeup from sleep in 10.6.2?

I just updated and now my iMac takes an extra 5-10 seconds to come back up from sleep state, as compared to 10.6.1.

anyone having an issue with an external not wanting to mount?? tried via usb and fw400..

this is my time machine backup

Even with 10.6.2, my early 2008 iMac still boots noticeably slower than it did when Leopard was installed. People experiencing the same or am I the only one?

I've had that problem with 10.6.1-- won't mount a USB flash drive. Rebooting fixes it, but not much else. Not enough experience with 10.6.2 yet to know if it's been fixed, but I don't see it in the release notes.

Did the brightness levels get re-adjusted for this update??

I could've sworn at 50% brightness, it was brighter before this update then after....

dont know if anybody can help but after i updated it reset my screens color to a more darker look. I tried the color profiler but i cant seem to get it to work like it use to in leopard. Did anybody else have this problem?
