Powerbook was just a cooler name.
My MBP's system name is actually Powerbook, though I did have a G4 at one point![]()
I agree, I still refer to my Macbook Pro as a Powerbook, but we must move on or we'll be called dinosaurs here.

Whoa. I may have spoken too soon - Dreamweaver is taking forever to launch. It's been "Loading Site Cache..." for several minutes.
Sorry, but I don't get it when people say " I'm not updating" or it's "not broken". Because eventually, you will be upgrading your OS in the future anyway! If you are not downloading it now, you will later, so just download the damn thing.
Yeah your right..i just searched what you suggested...Do you have any ideas on how I can fix it with out doing a clean install? I have a 2.4 Ghz Black Macbook with a 250gb hitachi hd and i was running SL on it..I believe the 10.6.2 with no problem..sadly..I don't have any back up of my data..
So I installed the update, then booted up Call of Duty 4 on my Mac Pro (w/ Radeon 4870). On 10.6.2 I was running with everything maxed out and it ran very smooth! Now with 10.6.3 with my previous settings it runs SOOOO slow! I have to drop down the resolution by half, remove anti-aliasing, and all the other features just to be able to play it.
What gives?!??!!?!?!?
Expose/Spaces is still choppy like 10.6.2!(2,16Ghz/GMA950/4GB RAM/7200rpm HDD)
Expose hack?
Updated and now Pro-Tools 8 doesn't work. Cheers Apple :/

I just got an iMac 27" i7 last week, which by the way, I love. But it's a pretty fresh install with nothing unusual on my drive and just some very basic and common applications as well as my music, movies, etc. So I went to download 10.6.3 and install seemed to go fine but it just hanged at the very end on "moving items into place" or somesuch. It stayed there for like 20 minutes with the blue bar moving maybe one or two pixel rows. Then the screen went black. I did a hard restart but the iMac wouldn't boot and just hanged on the loading screen several times. I'm doing a time machine restore now but am scared to reinstall 10.6.3. Anyone else having the same issue?
Uh oh. I'm not touching this update until this is resolved, especially with Steam for Mac dropping in April. So I installed the update, then booted up Call of Duty 4 on my Mac Pro (w/ Radeon 4870). I think you mean congrats Digidesign.
They NEVER support the latest OS versions. Go look at digi's compatibility documents, they say 10.6.1-10.6.2 supported. If you're using PT, you should NEVER update your OS until after you've checked with digi to make sure they support the new version.

Solely based on the fact that you have a known-good backup, you may as well try again just for kicks and see what happens. Though, depending on how much data you have, I can understand that this is time consuming.
Still not upgrading - 10.5.8 works fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I'll get the Combo update and see if it fixes the GMA X3100 and Mobility X1600 issues.
Now that it's official... I don't seem to be as excited anymore...
