I wish people could comprehend that. You look like a complete idiot when you say "I could care less."

Anyway. The first 100-150MB downloaded in a minute or less. The last 150 or so has taken 45 minutes. A perfect end to a ****** Apple day..

I could care less about "I could care less" because I never say, "I could care less." What gets me are all the dolts who keep getting the 50/50 guess between "its" and "it's" wrong. Problem is, there IS no "choice" between the two. Each word has one meaning which is distinctly different from the other word's meaning.

Maybe I'll be lucky. What's with the palette swap on MacRumors?

Well, my luck has had enough, packed it's bags and buggered off!

I now have all versions of the updater and not one of the little pieces of jaggedy-arse wool will install on my giant iMac or my MBP.

Both Macs have two bootcamp partitions. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

Help me.... someone....anyone....

Out of curiosity, do Apple have different distribution servers depending on your location?

I'm on a UK university network, so while my Internet connection is very quick anyway (higher than consumer packages in the UK), the download itself was very consistent. Are the slowdowns US related? If so, is that because the distribution servers for the US are bogged down?

Edit: As an aside, 'could care less' is a personal peeve of mine, although I do know plenty of academics who absolutely hate its use too. Thankfully I only ever see its use on the Internet from those over the other side of the pond.

i agree with you on this one it annoys me to buggery trying to make sense of a comment that has been written by someone who has forgotten all about spelinng and punctuation and grammar there is no way to tell where one attempt at a sentence ends and the next one starts i once received an email from someone seeking employment and it was written as if it was a text to one of their friends i am not sure if he realised that his fate was decided before i got to the end of the stramash of letters

Hmmm..... i suppose that is okay.

I often spend Sunday afternoons strolling around in my cowboy hat with my thumbs in my belt loops and looking like i have tennis balls in my armpits. I guess that makes us even.

Continue using the word!

Sweet! And if you really want to redneck it up never say you're "going to do something", say you're "fixi'n to do somethin' ". You'll fit right in ;).

This fixed an annoying problem introduced in the last update: when working with an external display (perhaps only in portrait mode, as that's the way I run mine) the cursor would drop below the dock. That is, it wasn't constrained to the visible screen, and would actually drop into the no-mans-land below the screen, requiring you to move the mouse back up or the cursor would be off-screen invisible.

That seems to have been fixed!

Drobo problem

Anecdotally, I have an USB Drobo box with 4 1TB drives that seems to be preventing my MacPro from booting after the update. Once started, the MacPro accepts the Drobo and the files are accessible. fyi

Your Drobo box is too old for this release. You need at least 6 1TB drives. :D

Seriously Apple? Still?

Good Lord. I hope this version of the OS is finally going to be a fairly flawless OS. I hate the little problems which emerged from titanic problems in the first release. Next Apple OS I will NOT purchase until about a year after release.

I think Apple did buy a certain amount of "bandwith" and if that limit is reached the third party network like akamai or edgesuite distributes the bandwith over all connected clients, which means a somewhat lower download speed for the average user in a certain country.

;)

Post scriptum: I could care less. :D

Would you lot stop bitching about Apple? They've given us so much all you lot do is complain.

It won't make any difference if you pre-order your iPhone today or next week, you're still going to get one. And there will be a white one, when they can get enough made for the demand. Just be lucky that you don't have to wait as long as the rest of the world.

As for the 10.6.4 update, it's great to see Apple still care about the Mac after all this iDevice hype.
