My printer was originally plugged into my Airport Extreme, but my iPad would not recognizing it, so I plugged it in directly to my iMac, and I got the same result "No Printer Found"

Though I thought to share a printer connect to a pc or mac you needed iTunes 10.1 as well?

just rebooted. everything seems to be running fine. the only thing i noticed were these to messages from little snitch:

To the guy being arsey about those of us waiting for the combo update - for houses with multiple Macs it makes sense to download just once.

No, apple has already released 10.6.6 to developers.

Cool, maybe more performance updates then. Sorry to ask but I am still learning here. What does a developer do with the updates and stuff like that, do they give feedback to apple on certain updated to make improvements or what?

Umm TimeMachine issues?

I just got off the phone with Buffalo Tech support, setting up my NAS for TimeMachine and the guy there said that this new update, 10.6.4.11, messed with TimeMachine to where it only backs up Videos, Photos, and Documents. Nothing else. Apparently, this is to force people to buy TimeCapsule which bypasses this part of the update. Anyone else hear of this? I know this update is 10.6.5, but he guessed they added more to that update to give it the .5. And he mentioned that his roommate called apple about it. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm glad they fixed Wikipedia in Dictionary. It was driving me crazy.

As for AirPrint, I couldn't care less if it's supported or not in this version, since my print server is running OS X 10.4 (it's a PPC) anyway.

Edit: well, unless it's able to share a shared printer. That would be cool :)

A 695MB Combo update that happens to be much smaller than the 10.6.4 combo update (930MB)?

I wonder if this is a built on the fly combo via software update for your machine.

Good point, I was wondering the same thing. Measures 728MB here.

Developers do give feedback, but for them the most important thing is to make sure in advance of the public release, that their software will still run without problems on the new system. Also they might want to implement new features introduced with the update.

AirPrint still works just fine for me. Here's my setup:

- iOS 4.2 GM
- Mac OS X 10.6.5 (10H574)
- HP LaserJet M1005 connected directly to an AirPort Extreme and shared on my Mac Book Pro

Only reason I wanted this update was to be able to run WoW with all the graphical features set to either High or Very High. This update did **** all for any of that. Setting liquid detail to anything higher than low = instant drop to 15 fps, even if there is -no- water on the screen. Same goes for sunshafts.

So all in all, this update did nothing for 3D performance, and that was the only thing that had me caring. Disappointment struck me. Why Apple wishes to keep their hardware downright gimped through the drivers is beyond me.

For some reason, my wired Logitech keyboard and mouse are no longer working...

Hum. I learned something here today. Thanks, bristleworm.
