Any word on if they fixed the bug with the iTunes Automator actions that occurred after the release of iTunes 10? I know there are hard code/manual fixes but I rather not mess with my system unless I have to like that. I already have a program waiting for a fix before I can reactivate it.

Thats all I need to know for AirPrint. MacHiavelli, I see you have the same mac as I (Early 2008) but I still at 2GB of memory. How much did you spend on yours? Just curious.

For the extra memory? About 80 bucks. Used Crucial: arrived quickly and easy to install. Helps when running VMWare Fusion and doing anything with graphics, even using iPhoto or iMovie.

Only reason I wanted this update was to be able to run WoW with all the graphical features set to either High or Very High. This update did **** all for any of that. Setting liquid detail to anything higher than low = instant drop to 15 fps, even if there is -no- water on the screen. Same goes for sunshafts.

So all in all, this update did nothing for 3D performance, and that was the only thing that had me caring. Disappointment struck me. Why Apple wishes to keep their hardware downright gimped through the drivers is beyond me.

We don't know if the liquid detail and sunshafts effect on FPS are about apple's drivers or just the hardware being not good enough. Have you tested them in Windows 7 yet with the same hardware?

I got an increase of almost 10fps across the board and maybe 20 with the most demanding stuff turned on. Don't spread false rumors!

the update seems to have slowed down my boot speed. With Crucial's M225 128GB SSD on a mid-2009 15" MBP, the boot up time has increased from around 15-20 seconds to nearly 30 seconds.

Yes. I drop from 140 FPS to 15 in OSX when I set Liquid Detail to Very High and Sunhafts to High. In Windows 7 through Bootcamp I can manage a fluid 40-50 FPS with everything maxed, including liquid and sunshafts.

Could also be on Blizzards end. I mean, patch 4.0.1 came quite a while before 10.6.5. In other words, there have been lots of builds to the OS X update since Blizzard released the latest patch.

soo happy

finally.

on that note i hope nothing goes wrong. btw is there a thread where i can post the awesomeness of apple retail stores and their willingness to help me?

i actually had a screen problem with my 12 week old iMac 27 inch quad i5 that i ordered online. BIG squiggly lines (almost 10 inches up and down.) from behind either melting the pixels or making the color change. I was expecting them to send it in and the fine looking gentleman who was helping me asked if i use time machine and i said yes. he said ok since its a stock item we can just swap it. When i got home i did the restore from time machine and EVERYTHING was exactly the same minus the screen issue of course. and they reset my applecare warranty AND i got the new iLife 11. I was basically paid 50 bucks to get a new machine with little to no inconvenience. one picture of my daughter and me didn't get backed up but that was my brother's fault for being in such a hurry. whike we were there my brother got his 1.5 year old iPhone replaces because the back was cracking. same thing... no hassle.

hmm

497MB - speed is pretty fine, however when the iOS 4.2 and iTunes gets released ? o_O I tho it gonna be in the same time!

Oh bummer

I have been running Software Update hourly all day at work and then 19 minutes after I go home it gets released!

So now I have a decision to make. Do I start the download at home on my Sprint card which will take all night or do I go back to the office and download it on the fiber in a matter of minutes?

I think I am going to drive back to the office now! :)

HELLO!??????HELLO?!!!

I have a very important question!!!! Please! I heard this update nerfs TimeMachine to the point it will only backup documents, pictures, videos, and music.

ANY TRUTH TO THIS?

A 695MB Combo update that happens to be much smaller than the 10.6.4 combo update (930MB)?

I wonder if this is a built on the fly combo via software update for your machine.

Wouldn't surprise me - it was the largest download in the Software Update catalog - my download is just finishing, will report back on whether it works on my 2.4GHZ Aluminum MacBook.

Was hoping it might help at least somebody else until Apple officially posts the Combo Update DMG
