still didn't fix the bookmark problem, even though it's listed in the release note. what a joke
Damn, I was hoping this would do it.
I decided to go through my bookmarks and I noticed strange red icons for a bunch of mine and opened each one by one. Some of the correct icons could be drawn and some couldn't, also sometimes the same icon would appear for a few websites in a row. I couldn't get that to stop.
I opened up every bookmark just to get most of the icons correctly drawn. I deleted a lot of sites I really don't use and set up 2 bookmark folders for items that can be grouped together.
The Menu is working much better now after doing this but it should not be necessary. There is a real issue here and Apple seems to be ignoring it.
I really can't stand Tim Cook

Of course, it won’t. There will be at least 5-6 more years of macOS releases for Intel Macs.
Apple released Intel Macs in 2006 on Tiger 10.4. You could upgrade a PPC Mac to Leopard 10.5, but no further. Snow Leopard in 2009 did no support PPC Macs.

I'll give you two more versions after Big Sur, tops. But macOS 14 or whatever will be Silicon only.

Honestly, I think this time will be different. Apple has many, many more Intel Macs out there now than they did PPC ones back then. I can't see them dropping support that quickly. There are rumors that an updated Mac Pro is on the way with an Intel chip, which will most likely be Apple's last Intel Mac. If this is the case, I can see support for Intel Macs for at least another 5 years.

What cable did you try with DP? Try the CableConn USB-C to DP cable (DP1.4) off Amazon. It’s about $20. It’s definitely worth a try. I found that the CableConn USB-C to DP1.4 cables work miracles. I have a few of them. If that doesn’t work, you can try the OWC USB-C to dual-DP adapter. That adapter fixed my 5K display issue before 11.3 was released. 11.3 fixed my direct cable connection to the 5K display via a single DP1.4 port, using the CableConn cable.
Thank you very much for your advice on this. Will give it a go and try some new cables (hip hip, hooray!). Thanks again.

Since Mac Os 11.4 is a prerequisite to use Apple Music Lossless, I guess that leaves out my old Imac late 2012 with Mac Os Catalina, despite the fact that the machine is perfectly capable of playing lossless audio. Oh well... the should update the Music app for previous versions of their OS like they did with Itunes.

The rest of my devices can be updated to the latest version and therefore I will be able to enjoy this, but still...

And people have the shame to be critical on Windows updates, the irony.

Imagine downloading 4gb to fix three bugs and not the trustd process using 100% the cpu all the time....
Or 12 in my case. For whatever reason.

I can't find any "CableConn" in Amazon, could you gives us a link please?

Anyone else having issues installing this update? My 2018 mini has been hit or miss when it has come to installing updates since Big Sur. Normally when it fails thru System Preferences I could get the update to run by using softwareupdate -i -a in the Terminal, but now I am getting:

Failed to download & prepare update: Error Domain=SUMacControllerError Code=7723 "[SUMacControllerErrorPreflightPersonalizeFailed=7723] Failed to perform PreflightPersonalize operation: [MobileSoftwareUpdateErrorDomain(MSU):MSU_ERR_PACKAGE_FAILURE(29)_1_MobileSoftwareUpdateErrorDomain(MSU):MSU_ERR_INTERNAL_ERROR(7)]" UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=0x7f8915e04a20 {Error Domain=MobileSoftwareUpdateErrorDomain Code=29 "Failed to verify package contents." I had this trouble with 11.3.1 as well, but the full installer InstallAssistant.pkg worked. Unfortunately nothing is working this time.

Nearly 4 GB download every time!! What ever happened to incremental updates? 😩
These updates are brutal for my completely Apple based rural company, which has a whole lot of macOS devices. The best internet we can get is about 12Mbps down. Apple doesn’t offer standalone updaters anymore, which makes it even worse.

Very frustrating that they haven't fixed the mail search bug yet. If another user logs in, then searching in the mail app stops working. The fix is to log out and back in again, which is time consuming if you have a lot of apps going.
