Repeat after me: 32 bit application support. All Macs that support Mojave support Catalina, so Apple probably decided not to bother. People who are afraid to run their Macs without security updates probably run Catalina or unsupported Monterey/Big Sur already.
Mini M1I'm not seeing 11.6 on on my MacBook Air M1. I have 11.5.2 and it says I'm up to date.

Please clarify what security updates have to do with 32 bit support?Repeat after me: 32 bit application support.![]()
One of the major reason why there are users still on Mojave is because it supports 32 bit. Please clarify what security updates have to do with 32 bit support?
A lot of music/audio plugins were never updated to 64 bit support. Including major synth manufactures (ahem Access Virus - looking at you). Thus forcing some folks to stick with Mojave (or earlier). Though I would hope anyone doing that is using that Mac ONLY for music/audio.Please clarify what security updates have to do with 32 bit support?
This is not true as High Sierra is the end of the line for quite a few Macs. The last HS update was in November, so according to your logic Mojave should still have a support past November this year. One of the major reason why there are users still on Mojave is because it supports 32 bit.
That includes enterprise customers.
Hence Apple had been supporting Mojave security patches longer than High Sierra.![]()

Every macOS update is massive now. It‘s by design. The days of piddling little patches are long gone.this is a massive update 🤔 almost 4GB on MBA M1
with the rare exceptions of mac pro 2010-2012All Macs that support Mojave support Catalina, so Apple probably decided not to bother. People who are afraid to run their Macs without security updates probably run Catalina or unsupported Monterey/Big Sur already.
This. Apple ripped 32-bit app support from our grasp and then kick sand in our face by not supporting legacy version. Apple are anti-consumer.Please clarify what security updates have to do with 32 bit support?
Anecdotal, but I haven't had any eGPU or Thunderbolt issues with .5 or, now, .6. I don't have the million dollar Apple display, though, so if that's what you're talking about then my anecdote is extra useless!
My specific hardware, if it helps: Sonnet Breakaway Box 550, RX 580, and LG Ultrawide 5K something-or-other monitor. Oh and the last Intel Mac Mini. 2018? That sounds right.
I agree, but Apple gave a fair bit of notice of dropping 32-bit support. Developers who never updated share some of the blameThis. Apple ripped 32-bit app support from our grasp and then kick sand in our face by not supporting legacy version. Apple are anti-consumer.
M1 Macs have to download an additional gigabyte of data compated to Intel for 1TR (One true recovery) partition updates. The file size on Intel machines is probably closer to 2.5GB.this is a massive update 🤔 almost 4GB on MBA M1
Yeah unfortunately if you're still using the older OS for whatever reason and are concerned about security issues, at some point you're just going to have to pull the Ethernet cable.A lot of music/audio plugins were never updated to 64 bit support. Including major synth manufactures (ahem Access Virus - looking at you). Thus forcing some folks to stick with Mojave (or earlier). Though I would hope anyone doing that is using that Mac ONLY for music/audio.
I use this app and it hasn’t updated, either. I’ve found the seeded links don't get updated for almost a day sometimes.any links to manually download the FULL installer? since this may be the last update for Big Sur.

Thanks for the reply. No million dollar Apple displays here, either. I have a Razer Core X with an RX 5500XT, which I use with a 2019 MacBook Pro. I guess what I read amounted to just a comment or two on a MacRumors article--I haven't been able to find a lot of news or reports of similar types of issues.
I'll give it a shot I guess--backing up now.
Same. I'm also waiting to update until confirmation that the issues with eGPU are fixed.
