Apple sure has gone downhill in recent years. Guess it's to be expected since the whole world is falling apart. This sim we're all living in is crashing. It's only going to get worse till it all goes dark and we wake up in our pods.

To make matters worse, the following totally useless sentence is added: "An error occurred while installing the selected updates."
I mean like what kind of people do they hire to write such shoddy code?

Was chugging along slowly, until it got to about 12GB or so, now it's just this every time I hit "Update Now".

I tried restarting and it still failed.

Same. I’ve restarted a few times. I figure they’ll have to tweak something and put it out there again. Terrible considering how late this release is.

I've said it before in another thread (Install macOS Big Sur on unsupported macs), Big Sur has problems downloading in the last few betas, it sometimes starts up with 40 MB/s (Gb connection) to then get slower and slower, even into KB/s, or start very slow and goes up, restarting the download sometimes helps, sometimes not.
I had no trouble at all before, downloading at ~110-120 MB/s from Apples site, not so much with last few Big Sur betas.

I had been downloading it for a couple of hours now on a macbook air 2018 with 12GB’s of filesize.. but all of a sudden this “An Error occurred while installing the selected updates” popped up and for some reason cannot install it anymore. Been rebooting and even went to disk utilities but it‘s still not working. Went to the App Store to download it but cannot download it to.. omg too much trouble for this eh...
