I just want mail to stop opening and interrupting me whenever it feels like.
I've had that problem all through Mojave. By now I don't remember if I did a clean install. I think I did, but it was a year ago, not 100% sure.

Didn't fix the photo issue where it grabs the photo from my wife's iCloud account (used for contacts sharing) and when I try to update it "updates" to all associated iCloud accounts. Sigh.

What an absolute mess.
[automerge]1571170165[/automerge]

My guess is .2 is going to be way too early for this mess. My guess is Apple needs 6 months to get this working as promised.

Not sure what mess you are referring to. Works absolutely fine for me.

All over the Apple communities as well, so many people having issues with HDMI immediately after upgrading and you cannot roll back to fix it.
If the user has a full time machine backup of the device, he/she can restore to previous version of macOS to fix. There is only one catch: hard drive has to be erased and all partitions have to be deleted before restore, or the system will throw an error.

It is a pretty brand new OS, even though Apple has a good track record it is still a good idea to wait for a brand new release to get a few updates in it before upgrading to make sure all the major issues are worked out. Its always fun to have the latest and "greatest", but are the new features really worth the increased risk of some larger bugs?

Just saying, I get that there are some bugs and people are angry, but it is a brand new OS and it just came out.

I’m not denying the rest of you are having problems as each of our situations are unique and possibly anecdotal, however, on my mid 2019 MacBook Pro, everything has been running absolutely solid.

The only nuisance I have had were some of the “allow this” alerts at the beginning of using the laptop from the upgrade. Honestly, other than that, all is well on my side.

Side note, this MacBook Pro is my secondary machine. I use a Windows machine at my business. So maybe if I used it as my main work horse I would notice more issues, but I still use it on a daily.

I run into issues with this update.
1. Stuck at blank screen after it restarted a second time so I had to do a manual restart.
2. Login screen issues. I put my password in and then the wheel got stuck at spinning I disconnected all peripherals and restarted like 4 times still after the password prompt the wheel stuck at spinning. I disconnected the ethernet cable restarted again and I finally got in.

Issues still not resolved: Apple Mail popping up by itself in full screen and Apple Photos php error when opening the photos library.

Catalina is very buggy I do not recommend upgrading.

That mail thing occurs on Mojave. I will be full screen and if mail is open it will make it appear as the second window full screen.

Initial install of Catalina on my 2018 MBP went smoothly, but for some reason I had to do a force close on system preferences to install this new update. The update itself went fine and I have had zero issues. I have been using sidecar fairly extensively and find it very useful with my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.

Other than having to re-enable both my Apple watches in security, to allow Auto Unlock, and a Sony sports cam 32 bit app biting the dust, I’m finding Catalina to be working perfectly well. For now, I’m leaning toward leaving my backup machine, a 2014 MBP, on Mojave, so I have use of that particular Sony sports cam app that hasn’t been updated yet.

I will say though, that I personally liked iTunes on the Mac well enough as an “all in one” app, the split has me feeling like I’m working with a form of iOS just a bit more.

As expected, and as Apple no doubt intended.
