Apple Releases macOS Catalina With Find My, Screen Time, and No More iTunes

Well given it has placed my 128 Gb MBP into a endless loop of no space I’d make sure you have at least 25Gb space and a timemachine backup.

I'm bummed I won't be able to play Jedi Outcast natively on my iMac. At least I can play it via Boot Camp. I know it's older than dirt but I love to play it through again every couple years. I love that game.

Me too, along with Jedi Academy. I've had these games since they were originally released for PC so they are like old friends and I've purchased each one 3 times, both games on disc for Windows and then Mac and then each one via the App Store.

I've finally just updated my Macs to Mojave from Sierra and High Sierra, I think I'll sit back and watch this unfold for a while. I've also not updated my iOS to 13 yet either. I'm waiting for stability with both but also I need to understand more about how Music works and the interaction between devices using iOS 12 or Mojave with those using iOS 13 and Catalina.

It feels good to shed all that 32-bit code from my newest Mac. Now my Apple Watch and my newest Mac are now living in a pure 64-bit goodness.

Time to start the transition to 128 bit.

Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac stopped getting security updates back in 2013, 6 years ago. Hope you've been virus scanning Word documents before opening them (at least ones you didn't create yourself).

See if iCloud Keychain is enabled. That was the holdup for me. I ended up Resetting my default keychain from the Keychain Access.app.

Others fixed it by logging out and back in again**.

Musicians: don't forget to make sure your plug-ins, interface drivers and DAW are all 64-bit-ready, too. Those things may not show up fully under reports for applications such as the one in About This Mac.

For me biggest issue is artwork no longer working 100% , I started it on one Mac using the GM and iTunes just chewed up all my RAM before crashing my Mac. On another with a USB attached library all my home videos are missing artwork even though the thumb nails show it. Also Citrix work space app isn't working for Catalina so if you need to connect to work like me DON'T install

It happened to me and I solved it by enabling keychain from the Internet Accounts preference pane!

When I tried downloading Catalina through the App Store from beta 11 I got this error after downloading. Guess we can't update to the final release if you're on the GM.

the "patch" is remaining on Mojave, or High Sierra. Apple removed too many 32 bit frameworks and system code for a "patch" to work.

That's called a Virtual Machine, and a VM with Mohave is a lot bigger than a patch.

Wait a second...

Aperture is 64 bit. Doesn't that mean it'll work in Catalina or is there another limitation preventing it from running in the new macOS?

Anyone tested WOWS so far? The wrapper is 64 bit but I am not sure about the rest. And what a shame CIV IV and Sim City can't be played anymore. Classic games that I played every once in a while for the memories. Why is there no emulator mode for older games? I can play old Amiga games on emulator software but can't play old Mac games?
